Chicama : Burnt Toast Surfcamp

This place is infested with nocturnal ants. Thousands of them came out in the evening. You can see the little piles of sand in the shower and bathroom where they emerged from. It was so bad we actually tried to find a new place to move to that night, but it was 10 pm and we couldn't find any options. We had to sleep with the lights on. to discourage the ants from coming out.

I loved this spot! Beautiful porch, super nice host, very spacious room (perfect for unpacking a giant board bag). The huge windows had us feeling like we were outside always, which is exactly what you want in Costa Rica. If you are on a surf trip and rented a car- stay here! It has all the chill surf trip vibes you could ever want. Its outside of the area that is being developed, ensuring you get the real vibe of the place instead of feeling like a tourist constantly. I hope this part of the Guiones area stays pure like this forever.

We stayed in thr apartment which was very large with full kitchen and 2 rooms with ac and it was clean. Its an amazing location walking distance to Nosara and Guiones beach plus lots of restaurants.

Roy was very friendly. lots of space. nice trees views and pool, walking distance to the beach and restaurants.

Dirty. the property looks like it needs a very deep cleaning. I am grateful that they let me arrive before the time of checking in, but it was very dirty. the kitchen I couldn’t use as I would have needed to start cleaning it it was o my two mugs that they were with a chip, and hardly any good equipment for simple things. the bathroom was dirty. the toilet brown and the mirror looks like it has not been cleaned in a while.I understand Roy is there working by himself. the property might need some assistance as it is too much for him. he was very busy trying to get the pool under control and clean it when I arrived, but he did clean that during my visit.
