Ca' Bernardo

Beautiful apartment with timeless wood floors and furniture. It is classic and elegant - no Ikea furniture here! Kitchen (gas stove) and washing machine worked well. Located on a charming quiet street in Murano. Three minute walk to the water taxi stop (use the Vernier or Museo stops). Private balcony. Roberto was raised in that very apartment and lives near there; he is very helpful and friendly.

Mosquitos are a problem in Venice, and despite window screens at this property it was hard to keep mosquitoes out of the rooms. Also the apartment below is under construction and you could experience some noise or dust from that. We barely noticed it.

Roberto the owner was a nice man, the apartment was great with a big balcony, it was a short walk to the shops and the Vaperetto. It was a spacious apartment and was a real home from home.

Murano is a really lovely place and in theory it was nice to have a relaxed retreat to go to after the chaos of Venice, but there must be about 25 bars and restaurants in Murano and during the day its lively vibrant place, however at night there is one restaurant open and that's it so after three night in a row we had to eat in Venice. The restaurant we did eat in was good but we wanted a change. I can't work out what the locals do there a two little bars in the square but after 6pm all shut its very odd.
