La Belle Vie Bed & Breakfast

A bit tricky to find, but finally we made it! The accommodation was the lower floor of a large house and comprised a large sitting room, bedroom with a lovely comfortable bed, and separate bathroom. The do it yourself breakfast items were in the kitchen cupboard and comprised pre-packaged fruit salad and bread to toast. Tea and coffee were available. There are no restaurants nearby so we had to drive back into Napier for dinner which was a bit of a nuisance after a long day’s driving.. However, the landlady was very good with recommendations of places to eat.

La Belle Vie is New Zealand accommodation at its very very best. Wonderful hosts, beautiful gardens, plenty of space and wonderfully furnished. So handy for Napier with its Art Deco architecture, Bluff Hill Lookout and Centennial Gardens. The accommodation is very well equipped, including fridge, iron and TV. The only downside is that we didn't book more nights! We really couldn't speak more highly of La Belle Vie and wish them all the best for the future.

A stylish and elegant designed suite with alot going on inside. It felt cluttered with too much furniture in main area for 4 people. There is no room to walk through to bedroom or bathroom without bumping into either a lounge chair, dining table or any of 3 doors at passage way, pantry and kitchenette. Perhaps down sizing the dining table to a fold out rather than have 4 chairs around a big round table. The sofa/bed sitter also clutters the space needed to accomadate 4 guests. We felt very cramped and it was cold and wet, just too miserable to be outside. A lovely Host, very friendly and welcoming. Clean throughout with beautiful un-chlorinated water. No kitchen sink which made it annoying to have to use bathroom sink to rinse off dishes and hope nobody is trying to wash/ shower or use the toilet. Between us all we had to capture every free moment to either dish rinse or fill electric jug with water. Might better be suited to a couple staying there. The Host takes all the dishes away to be washed. Private and relaxful setting with lovely gardens and native birds.

An oasis set within a beautiful garden. Despite yeh mid winter mist and drizzle yeh apartment was warm and cozy, full of Parisian bits and pieces. Comfortable beds; well stocked kitchenette for a continental breakfast and a very welcoming hostess

Such a stylish and wonderfully appointed and elegant place to stay A pleasant drive in the country to get there and then lovely grounds in which to wander A lovely summer patio overlooking the garden on which to have a pre dinner wine Everything is there for you to organise breakfast at your leisure

We loved our stay here great hosts spacious and quiet and loved the gardens. We highly recommend you stay here if you want an awesome country style experience so close to town. We would definitely stay here again

Superb accommodation and hosting..situated on a beautifully landscaped oasis ...French inspired decor interior and throughout the gardens..we loved sitting outside under the gazebo enjoying local wine whilst admiring the surroundings. Close to The Mission, we were dropped off and collected by the owners and hosts....Tony and Brenda, thank you...simplyfab!

Warm welcome from Bren to this beautifully decorated unit. Bren has thought of everything to make us feel like we were staying in a gite in Provence - just needed the sun Napier is known for. Lovely linens and china,vases of roses, magazines to read, excellent continental breakfast provisions with gluten free bread and cereal and a large peaceful country garden to stroll in. A pity we had to to go out for dinner - next time we will come prepared and use the BBQ. Sadly only able to stay one night.

On a tour of NZ we wanted to try and get away from the usual run of hotels and came across La Belle Vie. It was a very fortuitous find, a lovely spot just outside Napier, quiet, set in a large garden and beautifully equipped. It has a self-contained kitchen area and separate bathroom, all with equipment and materials in abundance. Breakfast was supplied to the door in the morning. Rooms were lavishly decorated with a taste of Paris and beds were very comfortable. Our teenager loved the single bed that occupies a corner of the Lounge.Hostess Bren was friendly and informative. If you're visiting Napier, a fascinating town not to be missed, then a stop-over at La Belle Vie is a must.

This was a hidden gem in the hills of Napier. Everything was provided, plus more.... it was just gorgeous with a friendly hostess. I could have stayed for weeks..... The unit was decorated in a French theme with loads of extras. So so worth the drive to the hills of Napier.....LOVED it
