Town Hall Lofts, Settle

Location was great. Size of the apartment. Facilities available in the apartment

No mention of 3 flights of stairs to the apartment. The lounge seating was grubby looking, had some hairs on the sofa and cushions and the sofa covers all need a wash. There was a small vase in the lounge containing dead flowers sat in stale water. In various areas in the apartment there were patches of flaky paint on the walls. Several spot lights were not working throughout the apartment or flickered. Unable to open several windows and leave open because the latches had rotten away within the wooden frames. The bedding had some hair on it upon my arrival. The bedding smelt. It was not fresh. The shower screen seal was dirty. Rusty towel holder in bathroom. I did not enjoy my stay and did not want to stay for my second night so I left.

Perfectly located, clean, airy and spacious. Very relaxing and comfortable. It was cool and quiet.

My main issue was: Not being able to contact anyone with a problem. The bathroom basin was blocked and smelt very unpleasant, which marred an otherwise perfect stay. I left a message with the housekeeping number, the only one provided, and heard nothing. We had to clean our teethe and wash hands in the kitchen sink. I think an apology or small refund is needed. The stairs up to the apartment are hard for older people. There should be a warning on the booking information which I don’t remember seeing.

It was perfect. In the middle of everything. Clean, comfortable, well equipped and spacious. We had flats 1&2- there were 4adults and 2 children staying for a wedding and we all loved the space and the views.

Nothing. The only problem was with the wedding and exploring Settle, we didn’t get to spend long enough in the apartments.

The setting is really as good as you can get for exploring the dales and having local shops and eating places to hand. We managed to park two cars for free and close by over the five days (including spring bank holiday) we spent there. The flat (no.3) was very spacious and reasonably well equipped, including an unlisted washing machine, always a bonus if you don't want to take home dirty clothes. Access info was easy to follow, as there is no face to face contact with the owners.

Not much to dislike really, but here goes - if you value teaspoons then 2 is not enough. An extra fan would be useful in the bedrooms, as we had an exeptionally hot weather spell and struggled to sleep. The wash basin drain speed was next to useless, so wet shaving would take forever to clean up. If you like to take a bath, this wasn't an option as the plug didn't fit. A lock on the bathroom door. Mostly, these things are easy to overcome, so to most people not an issue.

The apartment is large but… nothing more

The apartment needs repainting, there are a lot of water stains on the walls, the kitchen walls are scratched, the freezer needs defrosting, the beds are uncomfortable, the single bed is so small that an adult has trouble sleeping, the shower needs repair and new silicone, the bed linens and towels smell of powder and musty, we did not stay in this apartment, we returned home early

Location in centre of town. Parking at car park about 200yds away only £5.80 per day.
