The restaurant at the bottom of the Hotel offered a nice breakfast. The staff at the hotel were nice. Completely different experience that I received from Mr. Dollie

On my arrival, I was told I had to park in the street, there was no parking space available for me. This was risky and away from the entrance door of the Hotel. Contrary to the online pictures for Sunset Accommodation 786, the place was extremely disappointing. The room's layout was misrepresented, lacking a kitchen and a couch. Furthermore, the bathroom did not have a walk-in shower, posing difficulties for my 80-year-old cousin with a walking stick. The shower was in the bath. The water plug in the basin was also faulty, hindering her ability to wash. I brought this to the host's attention, and he just gave me plumbing instructions on the phone. During my forced 4 day stay at the hotel, the room was not cleaned once, violating the hotel's policy. On the first night, I requested alternative accommodation or a refund from Mr. Dollie. He said that it was against policy and told me a story about a previous customer of his who pointed a gun at him because of his unhappiness. I told him that each case should be dealt with at merit. He contacted me, however, on the next day to propose an unacceptable offer: I had to vacate the premises and be held accountable to pay for the remaining 3 days, for a security guard R100/day, and a cleaner R150 a day. This proposal lacked a guarantee of payment, contingent upon securing walk-in bookings. I also had to contact Booking.com and tell them that I am staying for four days so he can be paid. I have all this evidence on my phone, should he deny any of this. This experience has taught me to avoid booking with private owners in a hotel. The entire ordeal was my worst travel experience.

the view was good.

no table to eat our food on. no couch l, only one chair that was there. we were eating food on the bed which was not good. only 2 teabags and 4 sachets of sugar, it wasn't welcoming at all.

Location was good

The pictures in the site did not reflect what we got. I was at least hoping for more than just a room, I was expecting at least a small dining and/or seating area. A balcony would have been an extra thumbs up.

Stunning view with lots of activity.

No one contacted me as to arrangements with the keys. Hotel staff just said I must phone the number on the booking. com app. They could have been more friendly and willing to help. During loadshedding no plugs worked, only lights. Parking is a big problem at this venue. No coffee for 4 hours.
