Not much. The apartment was clean apart from the terrible smell of fish in the freezer and some mouldy condiments in the kitchen.

Strangle hostile reception from the host. She insisted on meeting to tell us The Rules but said she was too busy for 3 pm check in and how much work it was on a festival weekend, how much she hated that event, people dropping sand all through her carpets… eventually she agreed to give us the key - which she threw at me from the upstairs balcony. We booked for upstairs but were put in a converted garage. Hot, stuffy, no fan or bathroom lights, no interior doors for privacy. Used toothbrush in shower, used hand soap…

The property was very close to the main shopping street .....very quiet down long driveway with parking outside front doors .....great view of harbor ....it had everything one needed a home away from home Many thanks

Just small things ie coasters a tin of fly stray rubbish bags for food scraps...

Elizabeth, who was the contact on arrival was very nice. Shower is a good size considering the bathroom is so small. Water pressure is excellent. Location was fine but access is steep and parking is OK but you need to be careful how you park as other guests park in the same driveway.

This accommodation is an unfinished renovation. There was someone else's food in the freezer and in the cupboards. There was old soap in the shower which I had to clean. There were someone else's clothes in the cupboards and drawers, which is not very pleasant. There was no lock box for keys. On arrival all the doors and windows were wide open and the key in the door. Almost nothing was as described by Christchurch Homes, the Rental Company. There were no instructions on the basics like how the TV, Internet and SKY operate, local attractions or information you would normally expect. The bath room is very skinny and not a lot of room to move around. For me the accommodation is overpriced.

Breakfast wasn't provided. Location was fair.

We were not told property was being done up. There was equipment, eg rangehood and fittings being stored in the main bedroom. Cupboard in main bedroom not able to be used for clothes. Owners' clothes, shoes, etc left in house. Second bedroom above lounge, no bedside tables, etc. One side of the bed was by the wall so second person in it would have to climb over the other person to get out. No bedside table by one half of main bed nor light on that side so difficult to read in bed. No light switches by bed so had to get out of bed and over to the far wall to turn out the lights. Oven had pan with fat in it left in oven. Bathroom very small, difficult to use toilet if you were an adult of bigger size. Had to ask for soap for washing hands. House (which used to be the garage) is being done up, decor, furniture, etc, nice but far from finished which we should have been told about. Owner helpful but had to come during the late evening to get our wifi box for upstairs unit. When we left no instructions about the key so put it under a garden ornament and left a message for her on her phone, could have been better organised. Owner very pleasant, tried to be helpful, meant well but seemed to be disorganised.

Booked as last minute change of plan due to Cyclone Gabrielle. Plenty of room for two people with view towards the bay and easy walk into the town. Well equipped kitchen and nice shower.

Bed was not very comfy. Apartment has two double bedrooms but would not have wanted to share with another couple as no door between the bedrooms and you need to walk through one to get to the toilet/shower room. Also one of the bedrooms only has 3 walls and a net curtain.

Good location short walk downhill into town. Property has a nice view towards the harbour from the deck. Nice bathroom with fabulous shower pressure. Quiet location down a peaceful right-of-way. The person who checked us in was very friendly and helpful.

The unit has no internal doors, so if one of your party snores - everyone gets to hear it! The unit is downstairs beneath another holiday rental, and if the people upstairs are walking about, the squeaking floorboards let you know where they are at any given time ;-). When we arrived there was no hand soap in the bathroom, so we had to go and buy our own. Parking can be tricky if someone else has rented the unit upstairs as the driveway configuration means it's difficult for two cars to park. The unit itself is located down a long, very steep right-of-way and can be slightly tricky to find as it's not visible from the road. Beds were comfortable but pillows were the cheap brand filled with small square foam chips. Electric hob was terrible - didn't heat up and it took us 45 minutes to poach some eggs. All little things which made the place overpriced for what it is, but it's still an OK place to stay for a small group of people.
