1. The people who man the property were nice and helpful when asked. They were also pleasant to talk to and deal with. 2. The beds and bedrooms were all functional, clean and comfortable enough. They also had extra blankets as needed. 3. The bathroom was all western style and had toilet paper and hot water. 4. The surrounding, due to its location, was not noisy or crowded.

1. The property is really not in a convenient location. It's not well placed, or well connected. Also a little confusing to get to, drive up a dirt road in the end to get there. The neighborhood is very basic and a little run down in places. If it rains or snows or gets backed up for any reason, then you are literally stranded on the street. To be fair, many parts of Shimla are like that. But if I am a tourist, and I am stuck, I am wasting my trip right there. 2. The views are not what's been shown in the pictures. Sure there is a terrace view, if you are willing to climb 2-3 floors every single time to view. And it is a living terrace, which means its actively a daily part of the family that owns the place and lives there, with their rooms facing out to the terrace. There are 4 chairs out there to borrow if you need. And the view is nice but so is half of Shimla's views. The city is full of great views, which is why by Shimla tourist's standard, I would rate it as just a good view and nothing else. All said and done, we didnt use the terrace even once due to its location, lack of wow-factor and effort involved. So much for your morning coffee or yoga in the nature - you better be super committed to do that here. 3. Very basic, old, run down things in the house. The kitchen, the living room, the bathroom, toiletries - just basic and/or old stuff. Comfort is not your first priority here. And you have to clean up after yourself every time you cook or eat. In a country where even some maids have house keepers, and labor is cheap and plentiful, this was a surprise. 4. There is no place to eat or hang out in close by. None. There is a small grocery store to buy everyday staples to cook or eat. That was a let down. It meant we had to plan for everything outside.
