Rauðafell Mountain Side Apartment

Gorgeous location, easily found on satnav. Lovely place to stay, the views in the across the land in front of the building in the morning were fabulous. We loved our time here, we went and did the waterfall walk up the back of Skogafoss, if you can manage the climb up to the viewing platform, you can do the walk up past so many more wonderful views, and looking back out to the sea... a particular treasured memory of our time in Iceland.

This is a dog friendly place, it smelt very strongly of dog when we arrived, it does not bother us, but some people are less tolerant of such odours. It might be a tad cool in cold weather, there was only a small electric heater, and no central heat. It was abut 8oC when we were there and it just about held its own.

Unfortunately the kitchenette had not been cleaned or checked properly. The kitchen appliances were left with tangled cables in the side and the coffee maker had not been emptied or cleaned since the previous users. There was no contact from staff so was unable to mention it. I left a note and have not had any contact since.

beautiful location on a farm at the base of the south coast mountains. interior was very attractive, comfortable, and we had everything we needed to prepare meals.

Nice house. Uncomplicated rental, comfortable bed. Small kitchen.

Heating was only a small mobile electrical radiator.

Location was very good, quite near Skogafoss (10min drive) and Seljalandsfoss (20min drive), but it was still far from main road, which makes it very quite. Check-in and communication with the host was easy and clear. It has all the amenities for a short stay and I would definitely repeat it in a next time. :)

Nice, clean, everything one needs for a confortable stay

Access to the property was a bit unexpected. Didn’t know you had to drive on a side street to get to the property.

The place was lovely to stay in the countryside. Thank you to our host who understood when the accommodation needed a little clean upon our arrival.
