The apartment is located next to the main train station in Stresa. The size of the apartment is ample and there is lake view from the double bedroom. Sunlight fills the living room in the mornings.

Watch out before you book, the price of the room advertised is less than half the total amount after taxes and fees that are tagged on after booking (87€). The check-in process was painful. Even though this accommodation is walking distance from the main train station, you cannot check-in without going to the property manager's office in Baveno some 5km away to collect the keys. Limited public transportation is available on Sundays and the management company would not compensate for the 15 euro taxi cost to get back to the apartment. Inside the apartment, the interior decor is tired and dated. Kitchen cabinets oddly organized. There is no electric kettle for chai. The double bed is two really old uncomfortable single mattresses put together that do not line up. The bathroom has been recently renovated but the toilet gurgles constantly and the sink doesn't drain properly. I told the management company we would check-out at 11am per the information sheet in the apartment and our transfer, which they agreed to, but the cleaning crew arrived at 10:30am and walked in to the apartment without knocking. Booking.com should seriously reconsider whether it wants to offer properties like this to its customers.

A self-catered apartment with no frills (soap, shower gel) except washing up liquid & toilet rolls. Parking in underground garage with very steep hill to approach by car & on foot. Old-fashioned decor but clean.

Roomy and clean. Close to town centre and supermarket.

TV instructions needed to get programmes in other languages.

The flat is spacious and not far from the lake and centre.

Not clean: mold in the shower and dirty cooker Nicer pictures in the Internet than the place looks in reality. No light in the kitchen for 3 nights. The maintenance was not able to solve the problem. When we asked for a refund neither the check-in nor the administration felt responsible and the manager didn't give a reply.
