Air a’ Chroit Luxury Pods

These luxury pod are beautifully appointed and have everything you need for a short stay. There is a small kitchen, a highly functional bathroom and a comfy sofa, as well as a generous double bed. The pods have a wonderful view over a small lochan. Everything was spotless. The host is exceptionally friendly and had left me a box of fresh eggs from her own hens and a home-made cake to boot, although I did stay for a whole week, so not sure if everyone gets this! North Uist is a naturalist's paradise so this is a brilliant place to stay if you want to see wildlife, particularly birds and plants. The surrounding machair is beautiful and there are short-eared owls and hen harriers hunting in the fields outside the pod. The nearby beaches are white sand and look like they belong in the Seychelles, not the Outer Hebrides. I was lucky and had great weather, but obviously that can't be guaranteed.

The property was clean, comfortable, large in size for a pod, well equipped, and in a fantastic location. The ability to sit outside the pod watching the lambs in the field, and listening to the lapwings, corn crakes, and oystercatchers was very relaxing. Everything in the pod worked as intended, and the welcome and service from Mairi was fantastic. A great place to stay, and we will definitely stay here again if we are lucky enough to visit the Out Hebrides again.

Clean, comfortable, lovely welcome pack of scones, eggs, smoked salmon. Good communication from owner re directions, private parking.

Very cosy, stunning location with wildlife literally on your doorstep. Corncrakes are not only heard but readily visible in the relatively short grass of the long croft field in front of you.

Lovely pod, super clean and comfortable with very welcoming hosts in a very peaceful location.

Everything. The pod was so comfortable, larger than expected, cosy warm, immaculate, high quality fixtures and fittings, powerful shower, gorgeous room scent, thoughtful welcome gifts, amazing sunrises. I could go on as we loved every aspect!

Leaving! I wish we could have stayed for longer.
