Casa Verona

La casa era organizzata, con posate, sapone, carta igienica e prodotti per la pulizia, quindi ci si sentiva a proprio agio e senza problemi. È una casa accogliente, con asciugamani e coperte puliti, acqua calda funzionante e il proprietario, Stefano, era una persona gentile. Il rapporto qualità-prezzo era ottimo e nelle vicinanze ci sono molti ristoranti dove si può mangiare bene.

Il Wi-Fi non funzionava e la lampada da comodino a sinistra non funzionava. La posizione è buona per il prezzo, ma è piuttosto distante dal centro se si vuole andare a piedi.

Basic appartement and fair price

I go to Verona every three months, Prices for apartments and hotels vary a fair amount, depending on the season, so although I love to stay in the historic center it is something I can always afford. As a result I have become quite comfortable staying in various districts just outside the center of the old city where prices are are usually better no matter the season. Casa Verona is located in Borgo Roma, but at the northern end of the zone so it is quite close to the train station and the old city center. Public transit is excellent, the station is just 10 minutes away, and Piazza Bra is about 20 minutes. I've stayed numerous times in Borgo Roma, so I'm very comfortable moving around in it. Casa Verona is on Via Tombetta, and although the street itself has an industrial zone feel, it is not at all without good local restaurants & bars. The streets nearby are working class residential & don't feel "desolate" as industrial zones sometimes do. The apartment itself is EXCEPTIONAL -- spacious & tastefully appointed, immaculately clean, and secure. Though not "ultra modern" the kitchen and bath have everything one could need. The bed is large & comfortable, outlets near the bed make it easy to connect botha phone & a laptop. A desk area near the bed is easy to work at. The WiFi is fast and steady. There's plenty of closet space & dressers for those staying long enough to need them. One finds an iron, ironing board, vacuum, and so on, so it is easy to tidy up or press out wrinkles after travel. The bathroom is large, with towels, toilet paper, hair dryer and simple amenities. The shower, though not "large", is still big enough to not feel cramped -- and it doesn't leak onto the bathroom floor. There is plenty of hot water, which arrives rapidly. The kitchen/living area includes two sofa beds, a large dining table, a very large refrigerator, plenty of dishes and silverware, too.

There really isn't anything "not" to like about the apartment. I did need to pay a small fee for an early arrival, but it was quite an early arrival and my request for it was rapidly and graciously accommodated by the host, Stefano, who is courteous and easy to reach out to. Travelers who are not familiar with Verona may feel the location is slightly remote or be uncomfortable with using public transport if they don't have an automobile -- I don't -- but there are bus stops within a very short distance from the apartment so that really should not be a reason not to rent this wonderful apartment for anyone without that concern.
