La Casa del Mare

Location, location, location and just in case you didn't get the key here... location! It has a wonderful balcony with beautiful view over the bay. The apartment was quite large with 2 spacious bedrooms, kitchen with a dish washer and all other appliances. Great for families based on size. It does actually have a 3rd room but this is locked (padlocked) so it is unclear if it could be let as a 3 bdr as it is likely that this is kept for storage and other ongoing maintenance and upkeep. Pasticceria Matteosky is down stairs and to the left looking out at the bay. Awesome cornetti alla crema and great coffee to be had in the mornings. This apartment is right amongst it in central Vieste with as mentioned previously an magnificent view. Great place for your afternoon aperitivo. A hop, step and jump from everywhere in the old town Washing detergent, other cleaning products were all there and very welcomed. The photo's provided are an accurate reflection of the apartment.

Bed: Like many apartments in Italy, it is basic and firm. For some folks it may not be suitable. For us, it was just fine. It is not a mattress per se but foam. Town noise: This didn't bother us at all. However for those folks who desire or need dead silence, this probably isn't the place for you. One needs to understand that Vieste is alive every night of the week with dining and festivities until 1-2 am. So, if you want to be central to where things are ''happening'', you can't be whining about noise. Besides, if that is a problem, it isn't hard to get some ear plugs. Lacking condiments, coffee was rationed at 1 pod per person per day... given the cost of coffee pod's in Italy, ample should be made available. Tip: Hot water was switched off and to turn on the bathroom heater it has a switch just inside the door. The kitchen has a separate hot water heater and the switch is near the coffee machine. This wasn't made apparent to us but through trial and error... and after a cold shower, it was sorted.

Amazing location for beach and the town

Very noisy until late, wi-fi only worked close to the router, very simple interior

The location was excellent, view of the harbour, and lighthouse lovely, we spent a lot of time on the small balcony, there are restaurants below so it does get noisy after 9.00pm at night, but nothing that some earplugs can’t fix.. and very quiet during the day. Good aircon, big kitchen.

It would have been nice to have a few basic condiments in the kitchen, and also laundry powder and shower gel, otherwise all good.
