Amelia Apts & Rooms

There was no breakfast. We were self catering. We did love that there were very adequate equipment/utensils for cooking for ourselves in the apartment .And also supermarkets very close by. Also the decor of apartment was lovely, very tastefully done.

Very little to fault. Was a little surprised that no one physically checked into room/studio for the entire week. We were on the verge of checking in re rubbish disposal but in fairness we could have contacted caretakers re same as they were very responsive and prompt to any queries we had e.g luggage storage, late arrival etc..

Good location

An extremely narrow bed. 110 cm. It’s practically impossible for two people (60 + 75 kg) to sleep in it. So one of us slept in the bed and the other on the pull-out couch - which, for a change, had a thin mattress, making it very uncomfortable.

The room was clean, spacious enough and located near the beach, port etc.

There was a lot of noise in the evening from other residents and the beds are not super comfortable for my liking.

Overall very good apartment and the location is very good.

Only thing missing was basic condiments for cooking (salt, oil, pepper).

Bed was iets minder doordat deze een lichte kuil inzat maar nog steeds prima geslapen. Wel groot en ruim bed. Volgende keer zou ik wel de kamer met balkon of een buiten kiezen.

Dominika, the host was very nice and a please to meet. The owners were very responsive and tried to help

SLEEPING! THe room had a King bed and a sofa, which is quite common in Italy. The King mattress needs to be flipped or maybe rotated as the side of the bed closest to the door sinks, my mother had a terrible nights sleep the first nt. The other night she did sleep on the other isde of the bed more comfortably. I on the otherhand, didnt sleep well at all on the sofa. I mentioned above that sofas were common, sleeper sofas are common, this was just a sofa that opened up flat. The issue was, once opened, the frame of the sofa pertruded up in the middle of the now bed into your back and/or hips. Additionally, lying on either side of said metal frame in my back, the area sank. So you either sank on either side or had a a bar in your back, either option was extrmely uncomfotable. As mentioned above, the owners did try, which was appreciated, by purchasing a topper. Unfortunately, the topper was not much more than a mattress cover and didnt provide much relief. The other huge issue was the arched window above the entrance door. Just on the other side in the hall corridor is a light that whenever anyone comes into the building and turns the corridor lights on, even downstairs, the beacon shines right into the room. This happns at all hours of the night, the first night only twice after 10pm, the second and third nights, 7 and 6 times respectively from 10pm to 12:30. The last two nts only twice again. The easy answer to this is to hand a shade over the window. This is a nice appt but our primary reason for staying anyway was to get a good nights sleep for our day advertures... that didnt happen.
