Tania's House

The property is very clean, has all the facilities and it is really very unique because of it's beautiful bedroom brick wall and high ceilings. The host is absolutely adorable 😊 She left us a lot of snacks, water, cold tea. If I will come to Catania once again I will stay there one more time!

The place is very nice, everything is there, well equiped and decorated. Italian breakfast included so croissant , jams, nutella etc. In the fridge you can find the bottle of water and juice. The host is nice too. He speaks Italian only but you can communicate somehow. The only problem is that there is no sound isolation at all. So you have the feeling of sleeping in the street. You can hear the people speaking over the phone, literally word by word, in Italian though 😊 scooters passing by etc etc. I was pretty tired by my journey so I slept well but for light sleeper it will be a nightmare indeed.

The flat is very close to the bus station. The host is extremely nice. It was always easy to communicate. The flat was stacked with food and useful things. It was clean and everything was straightforward. A lovely place on the whole!

To be clear from the beginning, I am hard to please when it comes to accommodation and I am usually looking for the bargain and that doesn't always turn out well but I would definitely consider staying here again. Really convenient location, round the corner from the bus station that we used both when we arrived in Catania and when we left, and 5 minutes walk to the center. Our host was waiting for us outside when we arrived to hand over the key and the check out was as simple as it could be: just leave the key inside and pull the door locked. Very spacious, clean, there are plenty of sockets, an iron, two TV's if needed both in the bedroom and day space, plenty of lighting ( not like the hotel rooms with one nearly dying artificial light), definitely a space that one could use for longer stays. Kitchen space is clean and handy and the fridge is proper size, the coffee pods provided were tasty. Easy access to the room and although it doesn't not look best from outside, it turned out to be very quiet and peaceful. The aircon is efficient and mounted away from blowing right over the bed and this was a great advantage for staying here during hot late August days.

We were provided with some snacks, packed pastry, teabags and coffee pods but it was not the included breakfast that we expected when we booked, but we enjoyed the snacks and felt comfortable so we did not bother mentioning it after all. The street is dirty and might seem unsafe for the usual tourist but it was very quiet and we had no problem walking at late night hours so I would advise that sometimes bad appearance could be deceiving too. Having the ground floor room, there was no way to dry out any clothing so we passed on washing our t-shirts at all. There are no windows to open but the entry door has an opening like a window which can be used for fresh air.
