Relaxing Riverside Retreat, Ross on Wye

The location was perfect for a short stroll to all Ross has to offer. The convenience of an apartment was great, it had everything we needed for a much needed relaxing short break. Richie’s communication and info before we arrived was great. Will definately be returning 🥰

Was nothing to not like - If I’m being really fussy USB sockets would have been great but not a deal breaker as the property has character and may be out of place.

The presentation of the apartment was very good. The kitchen was well appointed and had everything needed, although we only made coffee morning and night as we were at my daughters home. The bathroom was very good, nice shower. And the lounge was bright and sunny with good furniture, the bedroom very roomy and adequate. The location could not be better.

I was disappointed in the housekeeping. It's an easy place to clean with good quality hard-wearing and easy to clean carpets, but it was quite badly stained in places, and a stain on the settee was noticeable. The bathroom, tho good, was quite dark. A brighter light would make a huge difference. And the cheapest of cheap toilet seats was loose on one side. The plug hole and strainer in the kitchen were very stained and needed bleaching, as did the one in the bathroom sink. Corner paintwork in the lounge was quite chipped. Parking space was quite an issue, especially when all other spaces are full. Ours was not the biggest car, but I had quite a job getting in and out. You may think that we are being picky, but a life spent in the cleaning and service industry has taught us that it's the little things that really matter, and presentation is everything. Question 4...is relative, it was a very soft mattress, which some people would find very comfy, but we prefer a firmer bed, so only a....

Host was brilliant, the location of the apartment was amazing! We went to explore the Forest of Dean and yats rock was only a 15 minute drive away and paddle board and we could literally carry our boards down some steps to the river where there was a public launch spot 5 minute walk away. The apartment was spacious and had everything we could need! I had the bedroom and my mum slept on the sofa bed and both were really comfortable! Perfect stay for what we needed! Thank you :)

To be honest it was amazing! We did slightly underestimate how long the shower water would take to heat up so should have turned it on more in advance of needing one but we soon got the hang of it :)
