Stunning location. Beautiful compact apartment. Bed very comfopratable, and an excellent shower. Friendly dogs, cats and chickens. The stars at night, with so little light pollution. Hosts extremely kind and helpful. We only had two days there -- we left regretting that we had not booked it for longer. We will be back next year.

The fridge was not very cold when we arrived, so it took quite a few hours for the food and drink we put in it to cool down. But this is a very minor point - I'd not mention it except that this review form asked for something negative.

The check in process was very smooth - the owner kept in touch. This has got to be the most peaceful place in Portugal. You hear only bird song - no traffic noise.

Transport is a must as it is quite isolated - however the reward is the peace and quiet.

My hosts, Thomas and Cecelia were most helpful and supportive following the discovery of the severe mechanical issues caused by being routed via Google maps on a completely unsuitable road (see dislikes) Cecelia also kindly picked me up a replacement phone charger when doing her shopping trip.

Google maps taking me a completely unsuitable route, supposedly because it was 2km less distance (though 20 minutes longer because of the poor state of track) I ended up rupturing oil sump causing in excess of 200 euros. Fortunately my excellent hosts were able to guide me, via a much quicker and safer route to a excellent garage where I was able to get urgent repairs .

This place is paradise. You can indeed see the milky way every night, it's so quiet, the animals are just the cutest, the room is spacious, comfy, more than fully equipped, the hosts are extremely welcoming... where should I stop? :D It's perfect, I love it. Will be back ;)

Beautiful place on a cozy environment. Sharing the space with dogs, cats and chickens. The welcome was great, having some nice surprises at arrival, including a very nice wine.

Animals have been the best things in the holiday, cats dogs and chicken. Every morning and evening they came visit us, the chickens woke up us happily in the morning. Duke has been a really good host ;) The position is great, beautiful sunset, far away from the everything and surrounded by nature.

Honestly I expected more from our stay. Our human hosts never showed up to say hi, would have appreciated it. Also we found the sheets full of stains, the cleaning was not good. Also the furniture were clearly cheap and old, some of it was broken.

The location was a beautiful mountainous and panoramic view. My room was complete with everything you need and was very clean on arrival. It is the perfect location for mountain backpacking walking and a super location for families and couples especially outdoors type of people

The entrance road not to the property but to the town or location itself isn't very bad shape it slows down your arrival as well as any interest in leaving the property for daily sightseeing it's definitely outside in the middle of nowhere it may be great for an outdoor person that is solo that really likes hiking the mountains and walking and it's pretty much dedicated towards the Portuguese person because there is no TV with other than that. It was not my best choice knowing what I'm now as a Solo traveler American wanting to sightsee each day this is pretty much a get there go hiking and stay there until you leave type of place.

It's a very calm area, the house has a really nice view with a nice garden. It's also nice for little walks in nature. The hosts are also very friendly. They have two friendly and two amazing cats. The accommodation is nicely equipped and perfect for two.

I loved the rural setting of the accommodation next to the host family house. Tranquility, sounds of birds and frogs, moon and stars, view of sunset over the distant ocean and illuminated Aljezur castle on a horizon. I was starting my day with morning jogging on country roads. Since I was traveling alone it was like coming home having two dogs and cats greeting me. Quinta (former farm) is located 4.5km, by paved road, from the main road, 10 min drive to Aljezur and 20 min to the nearest sandy beach Praia Amoreira. There are hiking and biking opportunities as well. Town of Aljezur has all necessary services, large supermarket Intermarche and excellent fresh fish and fruit market Mercado Municipal, also several very good restaurants, few ocean / sunset view, are offering local menus and wines. There's a very interesting history of Aljezur area to explore, the best is to start with a visit to Museu Municipal. Lagos, Sagres and Monchique are only 30 min away by a car. I am already looking forward to my next visit to continue my exploration!
