Appartamento: tranquillità o divertimento

The location is good being about 15 to 20 mins from centre of bologna and 25 mins walk to bologna central train station. It was just outside of the “Limited Traffic Zone” and so we did not have to pay extra for this. Parking was available on public meters for 7.5 euros a day. Roberto, the host was really nice and welcoming. The apartment is a good size overall – apart from the study being called a bedroom. There is a delightful terrace with BBQ which would be lovely for a summer stay. Overall, the apartment was clean and came with basic utensils so you can cook your own food if you wanted to. The apartment and apartment building is very secure with multiple locks and an external gate. There was wifi available which was very good.

This review is for a stay in December. We specifically booked this apartment as it stated on the Booking.com page that there were 3 bedrooms which was important to us - not the number of beds. We would not have booked otherwise. The site stated that there was a room with a double bed, another with 2 singles and the 3rd bedroom had a single bed. Unfortunately, this third bedroom was a very small study/computer room mostly filled with a desk, chairs and shelves. The bed was just a small camp bed and not suitable for adults. This room should not be advertised as a bedroom. There was also a curtain-less window in this room which opened directly onto the stairwell in the building. Unfortunately, as there was a lot of activity late at night and early morning this made it noisy plus light coming into the room. The apartment was quite basic - the double bed in the main bedroom was basically two single beds with thin mattresses put together and there wasn’t a chair or mirror in there which would have been helpful as it was not possible to use the hairdryer in the bathroom as the plug was incompatible with the socket. Given that this was a winter booking the bedding was inadequate with just a sheet, thin cover plus a thin blanket per bed. Sadly, the hot water in the bathroom was lukewarm at best. The heating in the apartment was also lukewarm and it made no difference if the thermostat was turned up. There was no tourist information, restaurant locations or a map of the city in the apartment which could have been useful.
