The Foretop

A superb , easily found location with a stunning vista over Cardiff and the Bristol Channel . The property layout was just "easy" for general relaxation , meals etc.

Improvement could be made to the steps/handrail for the less able . Lighting for the parking area is needed , as there are potential "trip ups" from retained areas of raised concrete . One PIR light would alleviate this .

Nice place . Plenty of room . Bit surprised to see that both smoke alarms had been removed.

No smoke alarms downstairs that I saw

Good quality accommodation, warm on arrival, kitchen items you need eg coffee, tea, milk, biscuit's, cleaning products etc . Good quality large bed which is important.

No info re tvs so no idea what channels were which, no info on two bins ie which for recycling but overall really excellent.

Biscuits and mill/tea/coffee etc on arrival was lovely as were toiletries/soaps etc. Kitchen was very well provided for. View overlooking Cardiff the Bristol Channel and location was amazing. Instructions on how to get there were very good. Place was super clean and finished to a high quality. The lounge was very comfortable and full of light, even on a dull day. Good value for money at the reduced price we paid - late deal. We enjoyed our stay and the minor negatives didn't detract from the overall lovely experience.

Double bed in main bedroom was far too firm for me, didn't sleep brilliantly but DM was fine. No guest information on the closest supermarket or instructions about what rubbish to recycle (2 bins were provided in the kitchen) or where to put rubbish bags if they were full although we think we figured the recycling out after finding some recycling bags in a drawer. Shopping info would have been useful as local store only had a very limited range of food and we only found a supermarket after a few days. Road up to the Foretop is very narrow, we managed to back car (a Fiesta) onto the steep driveway with about 5 shunts but could have been tricky for a larger car, although the drive was plenty wide enough.
