Four Elements Apartments

This was our second visit to the four elements apartment, we love it here. The hosts are so friendly and helpful. The apartment is in a great location and has everything needed for a short stay. Can’t wait to come back!

Nice interior design using mostly natural materials, walkable distance to city centre, with a bus stop and supermarket nearby. We liked the full-size fridge and freezer, the toiletries in the shower, and especially the washing machine and drying rack!

The apartment designer seems to have been interested in aesthetics rather than practicality. The kitchen lacks several basic items (e.g. no microwave, no kettle, no kitchen towels - there is no dishwasher either, but that wouldn't be an issue by itself) The stove also seems to be poor quality, so just heating water or milk in a pot (which is necessary due to the lack of kettle / microwave) takes a long time. No "normal" (Moka-type) coffee maker, just a capsule one (very unusual for Italian apartments in my experience.) There is no easily accessible coat hanger (a few hooks on the wall would work), so everyone's jackets and sweaters end up lying on the floor. No adjustable shower head - you have to either get your hair wet or use the handheld one. A few more hooks in the bathroom for hanging clothes, toiletry bags etc. would also be useful. At one point, the sliding bathroom door locked by itself (there was no one inside) due to the lock being unstable and we struggled to open it again using a coin. After that, we tried not to let the toddler alone in the bathroom in case he gets locked in.

We had a great time here! The apartment was beautiful, well equipped with a modern but friendly design. It has got a good location both to the city centre and the beach, also there are shops and bakeries nearby! The hosts are kind, careful,lovely people, they gave us every information we needed! We definitely recommend this apartment to everybody who wish for a fantastic time in Catania!

The place has a really nice home feel to it. The owners are lovely people and very helpful. Highly recommended place to stay in Catania.
