"Highly recommended, a gem of a place."

10.0

We arrived at the cottage from a walk on the windy gap , it was cold and grey but our grandson wanted to see the mountains. Catríona our host showed great kindness and knowledge in explaining the mountains to our grandson, then into the warmth of the cottage ,passed by the abundance of aromatic rosemary growing by the door . The cottage was immediately warm and cosy , Catríona had baked a fresh wheaten loaf and a pot of homemade blackberry jam to greet us . ( There is nothing more comforting than a slice of wheaten just cooled and jam like your mammy used to make ❤️) . The beds were very comfortable and all slept well. Everything was spotless and well kept . A little gem of a place set in the Cooley mountains handy to Omeath and Carlingford. Highly recommended . We will definitely return.

"A cosy house in a peaceful beautiful location with lots to do nearby"

10.0

When we arrived there was a lovely wood fire stove burning, it was a perfect welcome. The accommodation exceeded our expectations, it was cosy, a comfortable bed, great bathrooms and the kitchen had everything needed for perfect stay. The host Catríona was brilliant, very friendly with lots of helpful information and she also left us homemade brown bread and jams, delicious. We will definitely be back to explore more around the area.

"Charming cottage, beautiful secluded location, wonderful hosts"

10.0

Traditional old cottage with a modern fit out providing the charm of the Irish rural life with the all the mod cons you need👌🏼 But the best part was the hosts. Felt like I was visiting a relative 💚 Just naturally lovely, informal, welcoming people. We actually arrived on Christmas Day because we were attending a very large family gathering locally. We were greeted with a freshly baked, still warm delicious loaf of homemade brown bread! I doubt they do that for every guest but seeing as though all the shops were closed and we had young kids with us, they clearly wanted to ensure we were well looked after.

I’m a sucker for crisp white sheets and fluffy white towels when I stay somewhere but I imagine they are a nightmare to maintain so I understand why they wouldn’t be in every room I stay in

The cottage itself was beautiful, the setting ideal for what we wanted, and the wheaten bread was absolutely fantastic
