Great place and location, highly recommend

Had access to kitchen.

Extremely dirty from the kitchen, floors, linen, towels, kitchen utensils, kitchen counter furniture. The kitchen mat was sticky on contact. The laundry sink located in kitchen had a sewerage smell emanating from it. The supposed complimentary bathroom items included, used men's shaving cream and razor, handmade for the shower, contact lens solution, used hair comb. Only one small roll of toilet paper for 12 days stay. The location is unsafe for solo travellers, as later advised and verified by carabinieri. I was advised to return to apartment in daylight. Prostitute area, 5 minute walk from apartment. I advised owner if my arrival time over 24 hrs prior. I waited over 1.5 hours for a return call to obtain information abd codes to enter building. There was no hot water. Owner told me that I must have touched ir switched off something to cause that. He said if there was no hot watwer by the next day he would send his sister to take a look. Sister did not arrive. No follow up call from owner. The food eg sugar was stored in a container was sticky and dirty. The sugar had not been replaced eventhough it was obviously accessed with a dirty spoon and had gone hard. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. I removed the sheets and washed them as they had a used smell. Same with the towels, except for one. I left earlier than my scheduled time mainly due to feeling unsafe after there was an assault (not involving me)with a weapon directly out front, near the door of the building. That was the final straw.

Location- opposite the Teatro Massimo, at the left hand side. The mattress- once when you get yourself up the wooden staircase and not hitting your heat at the ceiling. Easy to check in and out.

Stairs everywhere- difficult to get on with suitcases, or if you have walking issues. Need a proper clean and shower and bathroom facilities update. Unfortunately, my original flight was cancelled 2 days before flying by easy jet and upon requesting a refund for the first night, or to amend the dates, my request was rejected. It was a difficult time for all of us during covid lockdowns, and, I do trust that more understanding and refund would have helped in this instance.
