Apartment Köln Porz

Unfortunately I got the room in payment. It was cold in bathroom and I really hate the smell.

location was ok. the man who brought the key was welcoming and came out late with the key.

The apartment was in the basement and was not nice. Very little light. When we arrived there was the most awful smell of very strong bleach, and when that had worn off there was a really horrible smell, quite indiscribable. This smell remained throughout our stay. Very thin inadequate duvets, the sheets were very bad, and only one pillow per person, no extra blankets or pillows. I requested more pillows on the first night, this was ignored, i asked again on 2nd night but was told they werent in Cologne and would bring extra next day. Only one extra pillow was brought on our last night-there were 2 of us staying. There was no tea towel in kitchen to dry washed crockery. An email instructed us before leaving, to sweep the floor-there was no broom, and to remove rubbish, there were no bins to put our very small bag of rubbish in so we had to take it out with us and find a bin on the street. And on the second night, there was THE most awful chemical smell coming in through the window, some sort of fumes, and we could hear a continous noise of an engine or some sort of machine noise. It was worrying, though I do realise the owner was unable to do anything after the event. We did report it to him and he said it was something to do with the shower! But we explained this was 11 at night when we were in bed trying to sleep. I am sorry to say this was not a nice apartment and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone.

Great location. Short walk to the tram station. Amenities nearby. Host was amazing. One of the jobs wasn’t working. I called them and they were out within 20 minutes to fix it. Really helpful friendly host. He saw us one morning trying to find our way to the tram stop and dropped us off.

No air con. Only had 1 fan for the room. When it’s 30 degrees plus outside that didn’t help.
