Art House Funchalet

10/10 location; quiet at night; good appliances.We enjoyed the proximity to a wide selection of shops, restaurants and activities. We felt safe at all times and my wife went out at night alone and felt quite safe. A cleaning lady came in and cleaned the place about half way through our stay. We were able to prepare all of our breakfasts and a few dinners in the kitchen. This involved cooking bacon and eggs, meats and veggies.

The master bed was not big enough for a couple ( about 54"). It was very uncomfortable (firm with noticeable stitching that dug in to your body) and we had to sleep apart for the whole time. The other beds were the same level of discomfort. On the master bed, there was a fitted sheet and comforter and no top sheet to put over your body to offer a layer in-between your skin and the comforter. Owner did bring over a sheet, but cleaning lady removed it and no replacement. Husband slept on sofa with a comforter. Would benefit from more comfortable sofa/chairs and beds. It's a shame with the wonderful ambiance and facilities in the kitchen they didn't spend a bit more on beds and furniture.

We loved everything. Spotlessly clean and quirkily decorated in a brilliant location. We loved the staircase and the fact that there is a bathroom on each floor and two balconies. We loved the bells of the Cathedral and the thrum of the restaurants and bars in the day but it was really quiet at night. Madeira is beautiful and we hope to return next year to this lovely apartment.

Everything. The apartment was in a perfect location. Easy to find and had more facilities than we expected. The hosts were amazing as accommodated a change of plan at the last minute and were quick in responding to any message.

Sehr zentrale Lage, modern ausgestattet, sehr sauber, sehr netter Kontakt. Wir werden das „Funchalet“ weiter empfehlen 👍🏻

Einziges Problem ist die nicht gegebene Erreichbarkeit mit einem PKW. Man muss mit dem Gepäck etwas gehen. Wen das nicht stört, kann hier sehr schön Urlaub machen

The location was excellent, right in the heart of Funchal with great restaurants nearby. The apartment was very spacious and comfy beds. Kitchen had everything we needed. The wine and cake left my the hosts was a lovely touch

It was quite warm so needed to use the fans and open the windows. There are a lot of spiral stairs, didn’t bother us but for people with mobility issues would be hard

Despite being on a busy street the house was very quiet .We loved being surrounded by so many restaurants,stores & cafes.The view from the rooftop was so beautiful & peaceful

No air conditioning or network channels or apps for entertainment
