Propped on the side of the hill (as everything is in Funchal), close to tourist activities as well as historic old (and quiet) neighborhoods. Close walk to pubs as well as restaurants and stores. Gorgeous views, watching the storms come in over the Atlantic. Deck was as comfortable and inviting as sitting inside. A real asset. And they sort their recyclables.

Good water pressure and drains but the hot water was scalding hot and a bit tricky to adjust. Caution is advised! Deck got a bit windy but otherwise nice to keep the slider open to get some air - the apartment had a bit of dank odor that was easily dissipated. Kitchen had the basics and some very nice appliances (fridge, dishwasher, coffee maker, kettle, panini press) but no toaster, or cutting board we could find.
