Ribeira Funchal Center

Great location, and really nice to have an apartment in the city to base yourself. Very clean, few little niggles (door handle fell off) but nothing major at all.

It was really warm in the apartment, the AC unit was great but I turned off at night as wasn’t sure if it was a good idea to keep on, so a little warm.

The location is excellent, very central and within walking distance of everything in downtown Funchal. The apartment was very clean and had all the necessary facilities. Although the apartment is located in a busy street, the bedroom is really quiet. A bonus for me was that Fabrica Santo Antonio, the famous Madeiran cookie factory with its beautiful fairytale-like shop, is right across the street. Not to be missed by those who have a sweet tooth. Also, I would like to say a big thank you to my hosts, Beatriz and Miguel, who were very helpful from the very beginning, and assisted me in unexpected (health-related) situations. In addition, it was very kind of Beatriz to book a taxi for me on the last day of my stay.

The apartment has no elevator and baggage has to be dragged up the stairs, which may be an inconvenience if you are not travelling light.

Excellent location

Air conditioning is only in the kitchen, and no fans were available. Had the weather been any hotter the apartment would have been too uncomfortable for me.

Would have loved a kettle! The living room lighting is really bright like an office. (Really lovely during the day with natural light through windows of living room and kitchen area) A few pictures on wall would make more ‘homely’

Location is excellent, we couldn't have asked for any better. The apartment was clean and spacious. Wifi connection was really good, we never had a problem contacting family back home. Beatrix would check up on us to make sure that everything was still in order. Would, gladly, stay there again.
