Funchal Apartment, with pool

The location was excellent and the appartment very clean. Good washing machine and fridge.

On arrival in the evening, we did not received the code to access the interior of the appartment as we were told that will be sent after 3pm. Contacted the staff by messaging and left a message on the phone and the code was sent. A massive dissatisfaction when we got in the appartment and after a long flight we found there were no towels and we could not have a shower or wash ourselves. We had to contact the staff again and reported what happened. We had an apology and were told that the towels will be delivered next day at 9 am. All of this was in the evening and after travelling 8 hours from the UK. We also reported the switches of the electric shutters in the living room did not work and the flush in the toilet did not work properly but there was no reply to that and that was it. I had a message from the property staff the next morning to ask if everything was OK which I found strange after reporting the issues the previous day so I explained that we had issues and to contact me back should they need more information but there was no reply on their side. I also reported the issues to Booking.com but again no reply. The bathroom was very small and no ventilation and the bed was uncomfortable because it was a foam mattress. I could have given a very good review because the apartment was very clean and well located but not having the code on arrival, and above all no towels which was basic hygiene and after a long flight not being able to have a shower is unacceptable. Therefore I found the amount we paid it was no up to the standards.

Die Lage des Apartments war wirklich sehr gut, 10 Minuten Fußweg von Innenstadt und Hafen entfernt. Zudem direkt in der Nähe einen schönen Park gehabt und der Pool im Hinterhof hat für Erfrischung vom warmen Wetter gesorgt. Die Ausstattung des Apartments war sehr gut mit Spülmaschine, Waschmaschine, Fernseher, Balkon, Küche und noch vielem mehr. Alles war sehr geräumig und wir haben uns in der Wohnung sehr wohlgefühlt.

Leider hatte das Bad kein Fenster und keine (funktionierende?) Lüftung, weswegen es nach 2-3 Tagen etwas unangenehm gerochen bat. Zudem war Schimmel am Duschvorhang. Diesen sollte man mal austauschen. Auch die Kommunikation im Vorfeld war leider nicht so wie erwünscht. Es wurde gesagt wir werden empfangen, aber es war niemand vor Ort. Außerdem hatten wir vorher keine Infos bekommen, wie wir in das Apartment rein kommen. Das wurde dann erst nach dem dritten Anruf am Telefon erklärt. Auch zum Check-out hatten wir keine weiteren Informationen bekommen, wo bspw der Schlüssel zu hinterlegen ist oder ob und was wir sauber machen sollen. Wohin mit der Bettwäsche und den Benutzten Handtüchern wurde uns auch nicht mitgeteilt.

lovely spacious apartment with balcony overlooking the pool. Very clean and everything you need to ensure a good stay. Approximately 10 minutes walk to the port and main shopping area but plenty of good restaurants and a small supermarket within 3 minutes walk. Weather was perfect for a November stay.

The property is located close to the city center in a quiet building. It is cosy and well equipped with all the amenities both in bathroom and kitchen. It also has a dishwasher and washing machine which were really handy. The host was very helpful and we really felt like home in the apartment.

We were met at the apartment by Monica who gave us all the information we needed and she was also available by what's app to if we need further help,advice which was The location was perfect for us,just a short stroll to the centre, also restaurants a couple of hundred feet from property and bus stops ,you so no need to walk very far if you do not want to .Giro bus tickets are inexpensive and can be bought for the duration of your stay allowing you to hop on and off easily . The airport bus was close by and goes hourly .The apartment complex is quiet and the accomodation has everything you require . A lovely park near by to relax in. Pool was excellent and I had it to myself most days. I would be happy to return to this property.

We were only given one set of keys which is very restrictive if you are travelling as a couple or group as you need keys to enter the apartment complex,block and apartment. This is my only negative comment
