Meckern auf hohem Niveau- Haken für Handtücher im Bad fehlen, die Glaswand der Dusche könnte eine Essigbehandlung vertragen und ein ordentlicher Staubsauger wäre gut.

Die Lage direkt am Meer war toll. Die Kommunikation war bis zu dem Zeitpunkt sehr gut, als klar war, dass aufgrund fehlender Sonne kein warmes Wasser mehr vorhanden war.

Die Ausstattung ist qualitätsvoll schlicht, aber es wäre gut, wenn es mehr Möglichkeiten gäbe, um Anziehsachen abzulegen oder aufzuhängen. Im Bad fehlen Haken für die Handtücher. Mehr Besteck wäre gut. Problematisch war, dass ab der Hälfte der Reisezeit kein warmes Wasser für Duschen und Abwasch mehr zur Verfügung stand, da das Wasser nur über Solarthermie erwärmt wurde. Alternativen waren nicht verfügbar. Das ist sehr bedauerlich gewesen, vor allem mit Hinblick auf die hohen Kosten für das Apartment, zumal auf diese Art der Warmwassererzeugung im Vorfeld nicht hingewiesen wurde. Auf die erbetene anteilige Kostenrückerstattung wurde gar nicht reagiert. Das Apartment ist schön, aber zur kühlen Jahreszeit nicht warm duschen zu können, wenn das Wetter auch nur ein Tag trüb ist, stellt zukünftig ein Ausschlusskriterium dar.

The views are amazing, and although it is really handy for the local bar/cafe & Lido, it was quiet.

For the price we paid the facilities are a tired. For instance the skirting board was coming away from the wall at the patio doors in the living area, there was traces of rust on balcony furniture and internally the rug was threadbare, with an indoor table having a strang brown mark on it. The Air Con was difficult to work. Also, the movable shower head was broken, and although they promised to fix it, they never did.

Very nice view, very helpful staff and exceptionally good value for money.

We didn't get coffee capsules for the coffee maker :(

The location is excellent

We arrived on Monday and saw workmen installing photovoltaic cells on the roof and wall of our top floor apartment. It was a vaulted ceiling so there was virtually nothing between us and them. Almost immediately we were assaulted by EXTREMELY LOUD DRILLING. Starting at around 8.30 each morning it continued intermittently throughout Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, when we finally complained. It was literally deafening. We also suffered two outages of power to the kitchen and on two mornings there was no hot water for a shower due to the work. We contacted the rental management company 'holidayrentalsmadeira.com' to say that we wanted to lodge a formal complaint and to ask for a refund of 20% of what we had paid. We thought that this was a fair and modest request given the level of noise and disruption. The apartment should not have been rented out that week. They promised to come to see us but instead sent the workman to apologise. Of course, it wasn't his fault. He agreed that the property should not have been rented out but the owners insisted he should go ahead. On Thursday evening the noise on the roof stopped and moved downstairs to apartment directly below ours. The work there was audible but not ear splitting as is had been on the roof. However, at one point the electricity and internet went off, kicking us off an important conference call we were part of on Zoom. The staff at Holiday Rentals Madeira did not respond to our complaint and have not been at all helpful. Any responses to messages have been delayed, brief and mostly anonymous. A few days after our return home they finally conveyed something definite - that they were waiting for the owners to respond! We have now been home for 6 days and nothing has happened. No apology and no refund of part of our costs. We paid a lot of money, recieved no discounts and were modal tenants. It's clear that once they have your money you are on your own.

Pillows all very soft, could do with a selection... but wouldn't stop us returning. Sunbeds would be nice addition for the balcony
