Merchant City Apartment

Location

The location is great, it gives a great view which I totally loved it. Living room is lovely and quite big for a group stay. Apartment is clean and has all required facilities.

There's no lift in the building, which makes it quite difficult to take pags upstairs. Only one bathroom ( I missed to see this when I booked the apartment and that's my mistake). Bedrooms are small and beddings are not that clean.

The decor - looking a bit tired, which wouldn’t take much to bring it back up to scratch.

The apartment has a nice spacious living room and all the facilities are there, the furniture is comfortable enough

The lack of double glazing or at least a secondary glazing means the traffic noise is very loud all night long. Also the windows could do with some blinds or nets as they face onto the main road so there is literally zero privacy without fully closing all the curtains

The apartment was great, and as you see on the pictures. Very clean and very well equipped it has everything you need. Great for a family, spacious and the view from the windows fantastic. The location was great, just 10 mins walk from Buchanan street, with parking nearby if you have a car, with a Sainsbury’s and coffee shop just across the road. The only downside I would mention is the noise that you can hear from the road, but even this didn’t ruin our experience. Overall we had a fantastic long weekend with our kids and if we revisited Glasgow we will definitely look for the same apartment if it is available.

Dreadful communication with host. Totally ignored calls and emails about leaving luggage before check in time. Was not aware that flat was up many flights of stairs and no lift. Kitchen and bathroom were filthy, lots of opened bags of foodstuffs in kitchen, large piece of fish in freezer, cooker hood, oven door and cupboards filthy, worktops “blown” and badly stained, blackout Blind in bedroom broken , couches stained badly. Windows appalling! Shower was mouldy and impossible to use. General state of neglect and disrepair. Needing painted and holes in walls filled. I have pictures to prove my complaints. Two elderly women and two kids who had intended to use self catering facilities ended up spending a fortune eating out as kettle, baking trays etc wet filthy and greasy.
