Lovely apartment within walking distance to the beachfront of Machico and the shops and restaurants around the main square. The property offers all you need to comfortably stay for a couple of days. I stayed in the run up to the Trans Madeira mountain bike race and it was perfect for what I needed.

The apartment is street level and located right next to two local bars so it's usually quite noisy and busy right outside. Also, smokers usually use the doorstep to sit and smoke away from the bars. Finally, the apartment could do with a few minor upgrades and cosmetic corrections here and there.

The facilities were of high standards, location was perfect close to shops,bars and of course the sandy beach. I did have a chance to meet the host and she was very lovely (thank you for the bananas) I would definitely be returning in the near future. Lots of beautiful memories we're made in such a beutiful island, everyone was just so friendly.

Place is very cozy and comfortable, all what is needed included and very good location. ☺️

It didn’t feel particularly safe at first due to the way it’s built and the location. The main entrance into the apartment is located literally next to a cafè/bar, and we often found locals leaning against the door and being loud. The bathroom smelled like sewage - this isn’t exclusive to this apartment (friends couple streets down had the same issue, but it should be mentioned because it’s very unpleasant). The bathroom door, and some of the floor across the “bedroom area” was damaged. The bathroom looked like it was built in a rush (concrete walls with no paint). And lastly - although not exclusive to this particular apartment - the locals in Machico were quite creepy. We were always stared down by everyone, they looked at us with sour faces and never smiled. This was different when we went to Funchal, so perhaps this little town isn’t particularly friendly. We struggled to find food places in area that spoke English until we reached a great pub/restaurant.

Nice place in a very good location, close to the beach and city center. Clean and well-maintained.

There is a bar located right next to the apartment. It's cool that there's always an opportunity to get a drink or snack, but can be a bit noisy sometimes.

Great unit with all the amenities. Well located close to a sandy beach and promenade along the waterfront. Quaint town with everything you need. but still an easy ride into Funchal by bus taxi or car.
