Cozy Flat City Center

It was very spacious, bed comfortable, good lounge with great couch, handy to have desk setup. Excellent shower water pressure. And importantly for us as we’ve been travelling around for a long period, a good washing machine. Generally pretty quiet for an inner old town property. A little bit of noise from local cats at night, and children playing in the early evening, but all settled down and we both slept well here. Tip-Try the cute little Mexican Place just around the corner on the left as you walk towards Ledra Street. Opens at 6pm. Lovely owner, tasty and affordable -good for if you are tired from a big day touristing and want somewhere easy and close by to eat dinner.

Important to be prepared for the first impression of the location, and the building. As we walked into the street it was confronting, it seems a quite run down street and we saw only people who looked like economic migrants-manly men. This was disconcerting for us. Do be aware that there is a refugee centre a few doors down, however there was no trouble from anyone. Secondly the entrance doors to the building and then the peeling paint on the walls as you go up the stairs to the apartment was quite worrying. HOWEVER when you enter the apartment you realise it’s all fine. Finally when you then get your bearings of how well located you are to explore Old Town Nicosia, walk through the border to Northern Nicosia, find great places to eat, access the nearby supermarket etc, you will likely be very happy as we were.

At this apartment we felt like were visiting a friend. We felt very comfortable and cozy. There was everything we needed in the kitchen and overall, items needed in everyday life. The bed was comfortable, the pillows too. I really liked that there was a large full of light desk for working remotely. A jungle of bougainvillea can be seen from every window! The property is on a quiet street, a one-minute walk from the Lokmaci border crossing point. The host is extremely responsive, we are grateful to him for everything. I highly recommend it.
