Probably the best view we've got like ever. The host was extremely polite and everything was like a charm. We got extra beach slippers, coffee and toast, plug adapter for C/F. Even complementary water and wine. Really anything you can think of. Very nice addition was that the apartment has mosquito nets.

The area looks a bit sketchy, but after a while we figured out it's actually ok. For people not used to liking a lot of stairs it could be an issue, but we did not have a problem. If it had a washing machine it would be amazing.

Lovely apartment with breathtaking terrace. Close to all interesting places. Ballaro market is next to apartment, so we bought and cooked fresh sea food every day. Panoramic view terrace is the best in Palermo, I think❤ Francesca is extremely kind, hospitable, sweethearted host 🥰 I would love to come back😊!

Wonderful apartment with magnificent view from the roof terrace. Great location to explore Palermo. Host provided fresh breakfast treats.

Be aware of the stairs, lots of them. Kitchen would need some maintenance, stove not fully working and some basic equipment missing. Host promised to look in to these.

we Loved the terrace. the terrace makes the entire apartment. you have to walk up many many sets of stairs but the terrace is worth it. the host was kind and helpful. The area is interesting and we did love the nearby Ballaro market.

I would say the terrace is worth the stairs up but if you have knee or back issues with luggage it can be difficult so just know that. The neighborhood is slightly rough around the edges but that's Palermo and if you have an open mind all is good. it may not be the neighborhood for everyone.

If the hostess's attitude changes (or the hostess herself changes), this is a great place to relax. The apartment is in the historical building Palazzo Oneto di San Lorenzo. It was once a hospital. The right hand of Giuseppe Garibaldi Tüköry Lajos had his leg amputated there after an injury and died there afterwards. A plaque with a memorial inscription about this hangs on the building.
 The view from the terrace is unforgettable. Take in consideration though that you will have walk up and down the floors (the kitchen and bedroom and terrace are located on 3 different floors) To get to the apartment you must climb two more flights of stairs. The apartment is located very conveniently for attractions in the old center. But the area itself, as often in Palermo, is littered with garbage and in the evening drug addicts seem to gather at the site of the Ballaro market, which is located around the corner. But the area did not seem dangerous. Great air conditioning in the whole apartment, indispensable in the hot months. Big Lidl supermarket is 5 minutes by foot and of cause all kinds of restaurants + market Ballaro at a doorstep. The self service washing facility is a couple of steps right to the Liddl supermarket.

During the booking of the apartment I left a special request: “a good wifi connection” I was planning to work during my stay which included a couple of group video calls and a normal upload speed is needed for that. The upload speed was non-existent (1-3 mbps) and I had to use my own mobile internet and pay for it (40 euro’s total). Even a simple whatsapp call via wifi froze. The host was first ready to compensate the costs but on the very last day she refused to do so. Arguing that this is an apartment for leisure, that internet always worked before and nobody complained. Unfair, arrogant and rude. The case is now forwarded to the administration of Booking.com. Her attempts to resolve the problem were clumsy to say the least. Her father came without any notice and began to call the Internet company during half an hour (without any result). Coming without any notice Is a tradition with this host. The other day her father came as early as 8:30 am to bring the base for the parasol on the terrace (the old one was broken, the host blamed me for it later). She was unaware of many things in the apartment, obviously trusting everything to the cleaning personal. Understandable when guests arrive constantly one after another. She didn’t even know that I came alone. Many times I got the feeling that the host just doesn’t care. (The first door before the entrance door was bolted from the inside, wrong wifi password was written, the terrace was not ready, clustered with chairs and the parasol was damaged.) There are no closets for clothes in the sleeping room. Two dressers were filled with towels and bed linens. Guests were provided with only a few hangers above a dresser/desk. The shower head was clogged, 2 of the 4 burners on a stove were not working. The fun part - I noticed that her father took the guest book with him so that I couldn't leave my reaction... UPD: 29.08.2024 compensation is received from Booking.com. Disgusting aftertaste. Never again!

There’s a lot of stairs, be aware !

The apartment is clean, has everything you need and the most amazing thing: the private rooftop terrace. We watched the sunset almost every evening, the view from the terrace is breathtaking. The location of the apartment is perfect, you can walk everywhere, very close to the central station of Palermo: Truly recommend.

The rooftop view was fantastic, and the host was exceptional. The house had everything we needed: comfortable beds, a decent bathroom, and a well-equipped kitchen. The terrace included a parasol and very comfortable sunbeds. Francesca gave us a warm welcome and plenty of recommendations for exploring the city. When we faced an emergency, she was incredibly supportive and assisted us with everything we needed.

Lots of stairs, but good for your legs. There were no other minuses to our stay, everything was as or better than expected.

Roof terrace is lovely and the bedroom is very simple but nicely appointed. The location is superb for a city visit to Palermo. Hosts are very communicative and helpful. Highly recommended.

Renters should be aware there are 4 sets of stairs to climb to get to the appartment and 2 sets of stairs in the appartment. If stairs are a problem for you then this is not the appartment for you. We are 50 and 61 years old and reasonably fit but had no problem with the stairs.
