Giù a Palermo

The property is very convenient and comfortable. We spent 40 good days there. Since we are seniors the elevator to the flat, it’s on the 4th floor, was a happy find in an old neighborhood. The kitchen and laundry facilities were good. There was heating. Christmas in Palermo was a bit chilly this year. About the neighborhood. It was not new and a bit messy, but the people, in the building and on the streets, were so welcoming and friendly. There is a wonderful pastry/ cafe near by called Massaro. The food was as good as the service. The hairdresser nearby gave me a great haircut. Giuseppe, our host, is lovely to work and talk with. As you can see we had a great holiday. We could walk everywhere but also found the train and buses useful. Do book here if you want to see more of Palermo than just the nearby tourist centre. By the way, they love dogs in Palermo! We loved Palermo as you can see.

I liked it all. Of course I wish Christmas had been warmer but no one controls weather. I loved the sun shining directly into the bathroom window if you opened it in the morning.

The house was very neat and comfortable! 20 min to the train station and 15 to the center. Pretty calm neighbourhood with all necessities and the host was very nice and attentive to all our requests.

Nothing much honestly. There was no Washing machine but there’s a washing station located barely at 4 minutes on foot so very practical.

Everything

The apartment has every facility that is needed for a pleasant stay in Palermo. It is close to the metro/train, a great supermarket and the best bar in Palermo. It is important that there is an elevator (4th floor!) too. The view from the small balcony is great, moreover, wet clothings can be dried there as well. The owner is the best host I have ever met, I warmly advise anybody to stay in Giuseppe's apartment.

The streets around are rather dirty, but this is typical for this area, unfortunately. The traffic noise is significant but windows can be closed and so it can be kept outside.:) Non of these are the faults of the owner.

Staying at Giú a Palermo truly added a lot to the amazing experience in Sicily. The flat suited all our needs: spacious rooms, fully-equipped kitchen ( salt, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and the list goes on), extra necessities in the living room like sunscreen, band aid, safety pins etc... anything that might make your stay better. The bathroom was spot on with freshly washed towels, no extra charge (unlike in many parts if Italy). The historic centre is a few minutes away on foot, there is also a proper Conad supermarket nearby that you can always pop into for fresh groceries. Parking in the street is for free and there were spaces available at any time of the day. The host was really helpful and always available on Whatsapp.

It was perfect. This flat made our holiday perfect.

The host is great and very attentive. It was very easy to communicate with him. The apartment is in a great location - just an easy walk to the most important landmarks. It was very quiet. The kitchen had everything we needed. The Wi-Fi worked amazingly well (we worked in the apartment). The supermarket and a great patisserie are close. There are two air-conditioners which also have a heating function so if anyone goes in winter (like we did), you will be more than fine.

The towels were not comfortable, seemed constantly wet. It would be great to have a knife in the apartment. However, for this price the place is really amazing.

It was possible to check in late at night. The flat is perfect for 1-2 persons, even for 4, if needed. The owner is a great guy, very helpful and polite. Everything is close, the sightseeing spots of this historical city and train stations to travel far. The 4th floor provides a spectacular view of the city (there is an elevator!) and the small terrace makes one feel like a real Sicilian:). Great Bar Massaro is nearby to eat any time and Conad supermarket as well to buy anything.

The surrounding street area is not clean, the elevator is slow, but these actually do not matter and cannot be influenced by the owner of the flat, of course.

I could to feel real Palerno atmosphere live there. The host were incredible kind and helpfull. Very clean apartment, equipmentef for everything you need, not so far to Palermo must visit points. Reccommend pannineria opposite the street open till 1am, delicious sandwiches they have. Mondello beach, Cefalu, Monreale are amazing. Reccomend this place from my heart.
