Monkstadt No 8 - McEachanns Hideout

Very clean and comfortable - beautiful surroundings- very peaceful

Minor points - need proper wine glasses and either a coffee machine or cafetière would be appreciated

Everything was absolutely perfect! The place felt very homely (clean, warm & comfortable)!! The bed was very comfortable, the shower pressure and temperature were great. The views were beautiful and we loved the piece surrounding the place. Even enjoyed the company of a lovely black bull with a nose ring ❤️what a character!! Hopefully we will manage to come back.

Not a complaint but some outside light would be really great out of the season.

Great location - easy to find, superbly renovated with quality fittings, staff very responsive when an issue with TV which was quickly fixed

Not really that I didn't like but fitting an EV charger would be fantastic (unfortunately most of the chargers in Orkney are out of order). Log burner would be ideal in January

The location is beautiful and the property is steeped in history. We had dinner the first night , a 3 course meal that was expensive for us but given the remoteness and quality of food we thought was worth it. The facilities were very good with a fully functional unit allowing us to cook and washing facilities were very welcome. I love the drive and views into town but the Scottish roads are a challenge initially.

The remoteness is both an advantage and disadvantage. We had some anxiety when arriving in Portree and could not locate the site on maps until we realised it was a part of the restaurant. It would have been useful to have some directions and a contact number when the booking was confirmed

Loved the quiet location although the sat nav took us in another direction. Did eventually find the property

No milk in the fridge. No shops nearby.

Super cosy, had everything we needed, very clean, absolutely loved our stay! Beautiful location and easy to find
