The location is excellent 👍 The staff was very hospitable and ready to solve any issue fast.

The only downside was cleanliness or, rather, its absence. For example, the curtains in the bedroom were scary to the touch, full of dust, and had some crazy 🤢 spots. We easily fixed it by simply washing them in the wash machine 🤷‍♀️

Water pressure is not enough. The kitchen wares are not clean. The carpets are stained. The panel of the temperature control is difficult to watch.

The apartment we were allocated was in a small street with no general traffic and a few steps to the market square in Reading. Plenty of buskers, street stalls, seats for the public to sit and enjoy this area. Opposite the apartment was Marks and Spencer who have a wonderful food hall and there was a lovely coffee shop next door. The walk from the train station was about 500 metres. Our bedroom had a door that opened to a balcony, windows that opened above the street, plenty of heating if you required it, fridge and freezer and washing machine.

Instructions on how to access the building after checking in were not available, there was no ironing board, tea towels or dishwashing liquid. In fairness the owner/manager did come straight away and delivered the items and explained that instruction leaflets had disappeared. Also this apartment is on the first floor and the narrow stairs were a struggle for us as elderly people to manage, but once in the apartment it was ok

Handy central location - near enough to train station though a long way from car parks if you have lots of luggage. Landlord could not have been more delightful and helpful when small things needed sorting

Bit austere - neither the rug or sofa cushions in photo were there so felt rather like the rental property it is - with hard floors very few soft furnishings - but perfectly good for a few nights’ stay
