The room was beautiful and had all the necessities, and the ivory apartment’s staff was very attentive.

Nothing.

The agent did not arrive on time, despite an agreed early check-in time at noon. She entered the room with street shoes on, which in Vietnam is a gross offense, especially as all guests had taken their shoes off when entering the room. The room was not well cleaned in the corners (see photo) and the tiny seat along the wall as already falling apart. Cash payment was required on check-in; in Vietnam and with COVID-19, virtually all cash payments are done by immediate bank transfer, where the the beneficiary provides his/her account details and sees the confirmation of the transfer made on the payer's mobile. The agent provided AND confirmed with two witnesses fluent in Vietnamese present an INCORRECT account number, so the cash payment was sent to someone else - which in Vietnam means it is lost. We had to pay AGAIN to secure the room. This is of course utterly unacceptable. The room size of 41 m2 was stated in accordance with Vietnamese conventions when measuring APARTMENTS, which includes part of the public corridor and the balcony. The room itself was small, about 25 m2 excluding the small bathroom. To provide a measurement of 41 m2 is fraudulent. Again, this is utterly unacceptable behaviour. Similar apartments, yet of double the size, are about USD 30.00 in town, so the price is inflated, as is the rating.
