Luxury Apartment With Balcony next to the New York Café

The apartment is very well equipped and spacious with lots of sleeping spaces and 2 bathrooms. Located right near the New York cafe with lots of food outlets and supermarkets nearby. Easy walk to main landmarks, bars and restaurants.

The apartment is spacious and the location was good for our purposes but we have had problems with some of the amenities and fittings. Which led us to have a bad stay. We think the base of all was the price paid and some misunderstanding about the word “luxury” in the description as according to our experience the description does simply not fit. The price paid was particularly high and it did not match the quality of the apartment.

- in the master bedroom the bed sheets did not match the size of the bed, they were too small, so they could not stay in the mattress. The property was contacted but could not change them. - same goes for the pillow covers which were too small - this led us to see the mattress itself was stained. - the mattress was not the only thing stained, the sofa, the chairs, the carpet, the bed were also stained, which made us feel very uncomfortable. - several equipments were broken/not working properly. Among others a toilet shower, a shower, a toilet flush, a plug in the kitchen , toilet ring not fixed…. - a tea table was broken - one bedroom had no heating. Temperature outside -1C….. we did not use this room even though we rented the apartment as 3 bedroom - an aircon unit placed on the side of one of the bed let cold air from the outside penetrate inside, although switched off. We had to cover it with a blanket for our stay. - worst of all one door was broken when we arrived. We notified the property which informed us they could not repair in time. One panel of the door then fell down and caused a cut in the hand and in the leg of one guest. - the equipment of the kitchen was largely insufficient. Besides 3 (three) small pots that were also stained and dirty there was only 1 (one) small pan which could not work on the induction stove. - we bought our own cleaning products as in the house there not adequate ones. All this had little to do with “luxury”. The communication skills of the property (or agent) were also not the brightest. They could not help us in supplying bigger sheets, they could not supply a working pan, but the thing which leaves us absolutely astonished it they did answer the messages, acknowledged the problems, even offered a partial refund and then DISAPPEARED and replied none of our messages no more. Hence we claimed through Booking.com and obtained a partial refund. We also question the validity of some review.

The location was perfect, it was a 4 minute walk to the metro and a 2 minute walk to the tram. Also the apartment gave us such royal vibes. It is modern but you can feel the historic architetcutre. With the parking there was no problem, as we found it near the building. The apartment is in the 2nd floor and it has an old elevator which works (it was great because we have a 19 month old child). It is very spacious- three bedrooms, three bathrooms. We had great communication with the host.

The nightlife is very vibrant. It can be heard in the room next to the living room area, you can also hear the metro as it is right next to the building. Other rooms were not bothered by it.

Everything was exceptional. The apartment was in a good spot and quiet. We were a group of nine people and we were all comfortable. It was very clean.

Superb location with excellent value for money, this is the perfect base to explore widely across Budapest & has been very well set up with great facilities & cleanliness. The owners communicated consistently and clearly and were happy to answer various questions; they also helped to arrange an excellent taxi transfer with baby seat for our 10-month old child which was quick and very helpful both ways.

Need to be cleaner

They don’t have any AC in the apartment and it’s really hot so we feel not comfortable. They say that the AC is under construction at that moment and only provide the fans instead but I think that the AC is not working since 2023 and they won’t fix it!
