Standard Apartment by Hi5 - Close to Buda Castle

The apartment is really spacious and comfortable and everything except the below was super.

The only downside to me is that I received a ton of emails from the host with rules, regulations and whatsoever that you need to check and comply with. Nothing out of the ordinary expect the high fines that they might impose in some cases. And also if you don’t do an online check in before your stay you need to go for check in to their reception desk which is in the opposite side of Budapest so that could be an issue for someone.

A large apartment. Good size rooms.

The toilet was situated in a tiny cupboard in the lounge area. No wash basin. In it so you had to walk across main sitting area to wash hands. No privacy. Not very convenient when sharing with friends. We were advised apartment was on 1st floor when technically it was on 3rd. There was a lift but due to having a fear of lifts the stairs were necessary. The on-line booking procedure was not working correctly so we had to find the office to confirm check-in.

The kitchen equipment is incomplete, the TV channels do not work.

Good price. Lots of space

A lot of things were broken: the kitchen chair had a massive crack; the dining table was shabby; the bathroom tiles under the shower were all broken. The rainfall shower was unusable, as water was spraying out from the side. The shower door didn’t close properly. The door handles kept falling off. The red curtains hadn’t been washed in quite some time, and the sofa was stained too. The cleaners kept the place fairly tidy, but the property clearly needs proper maintenance—it seems like the owner has given up. There was no kettle, so we had to use a saucepan instead. The pillows and mattress were uncomfortable; we all woke up with aches and pains. The electrical wiring was also quite odd and should definitely be inspected and repaired.

I don’t even know where to start. We have stayed in hundreds of places before and i never gave such a bad review. Dirty filthy apartment. Dust and items from previous tenants under the couch. Tiles are falling apart under the shower and in the toilet. Kitchen has basically no supplies, 3 mugs and 2 glasses for 4 people. Frying pan dirty and bad quality. No coffee machine, no boiler, no toaster. Good luck trying to have breakfast.I had to buy a mocca to boil coffee. No cleaning cloth in the kitchen. The “toiletries “ provided are 4 tiny shower gels in a plastic compartment 3x2 cm which are not enough to wash 1 foot. No shampoo. Shower towels are tiny, bad quality and with stains. Big TV but not a smart TV, only Hungarian channels. Lock is tricky, you have to try the key several times so it opens the door. Main gate downstairs is always open which doesn’t feel safe. The hosts clearly don’t care, we asked for a second key but we got a cold “no”. They don’t try to help in any way. The online check in process is complicated and you have to scan all your passports and fill a form for every person. You keep on getting mails during your stay reminding you about the house rules and the penalties applied if you don’t comply. Obviously we were always quiet and calm as we were a family and the children sleep at 21.00. Never again. Avoid this place.

Very good location. Apartment was clean and comfortable.

Needed more hygiene materials.
