Apartman Pustolov - Stara planina

We loved the beautiful scenery of Stara Planina. Bilja and her husband ( unrelated to the owner of the apartment) are wonderful hosts and cooks who prepared amazing meals for us and offered relaxing chats that we will remember for a long time.

The spectacular reviews this apartment had on booking.com led me to book a night there. Stara Planina in Serbia offers amazing scenery, and the complex of rustic apartments in wood ambiance is nested in this beautiful scenery. However, I was a bit surprised that the reviews were this good. First of all, the total price on the booking.com is misleading because the host charges a cleaning fee on top of it. Second, the whole place has a musty smell that's hard to ignore. Third, the mattress is too soft, and we had a sore back from sleeping on it. The bathroom has a weird setting with the toilet nestled INSIDE the shower tub, so good luck if you take a shower and need to use the toilet later as the tub stays wet for hours.  I bumped my head against the ceiling pole that hovers above the miniature bathroom sink. The two of us were left with one bath and two hand towels, so one of us had to use a towel that was simply too small for the job. To sum up, people's standards are different,  but looking at the similarly priced accommodations in eastern Serbia, I was able to book places that were more reasonably priced or that offered much more for the price. This apartment has a lot to be desired, but the one good thing about staying in this place was dining downstairs, which is a completely unrelated establishment and separately charged. Bilja and her husband are spectacular hosts and cooks , and ,together with their three cute dogs, they made our stay in Pustolov apartment palatable in every sense of that word.

Atmosphere was great and cozy. Had a really good sleep in dat extra soft bed) Definitely love the style of the interior and the welcoming hosts.

There were times when there was no hot water at all. If you need a strong Wi-Fi then you might be disappointed.
