Bellini Apartment

Great central location in the Jewish Quarter. Close to lots of bars, restaurants and major landmarks. Bed was comfortable and shower clean. The apartment had all the appliances and necessities for a comfortable stay.

As soon as we arrived to the door of the property (just before midnight)- the code we were given did not work, I had to call the owner for a new code. Problem solved. Once we got in to the apartment, we were not told, not aware that there was an alarm. It was set, and constantly beeping. After nearly half an hour of it not beeping, again I had to call the owner. She did not know the alarm code, and then when we opened the door and relocked it at her request, the major alarm started blaring outside the apartment. For ages. People came down from their apartments and we’re getting cranky at us in Hungarian. The owner tried calling the security company, no response. She didn’t know the code to even unlock the alarm. All the codes she offered didn’t work. The solution we were given was to wait until she read the manual, or wait until the morning in the apartment, with the alarm beeping, until the morning when she could get help sent to the apartment. Third option was to go to another apartment and risk setting off the major alarm and just leaving it going all night. Eventually we tried a new code which worked. The next problem, the aircon in the apartment did not work. It would randomly turn off, and the apartment would get super hot. I tried messaging the owner for help. No response. When we vacated, I tried messaging to ask for a late checkout or somewhere to leave our bags. No response. We also bought coffee with intent of using the kettle but there was a very old, mouldy, smelly boiled egg in the base of the kettle. Obviously we didn’t use the kettle after finding that out. The stay overall was okay, it was stuffy and hot but we managed. A bit clearer communication and less road blocks could have helpful but it was fine.
