9 The Village

When you open the patio doors, the view of Hout Bay is absolutely breathtaking. You are literally yards from the beach. The flat is very comfortable and well-equiped and has two bathrooms, always a bonus. Secure parking under the apartment is also useful. Meeting the host's agent was easy and the welcome pack of food etc provided was perfect. Thank you so much for a lovely stay!

The communal pool is very dark and very tired looking, with missing roof panels - bit of a let down, especially when with the sea so cold, you could do with a decent heated pool.

The best thing about the property is the location to the beach - literally a walk over the street and you’re on the beach front. If it wasn’t for that I would rate this a lot lower. The location pushes this rating up - if you’re planning to be off property most of the time on the beach, 💯 worth the cost. If not - I suggest finding a different place.

1) unclean - the carpets and floors were dirty, and things like the curtains and security gates had a lot of dust on them. The rooms felt very used and in need of a massive refurb for the cost of the property - only the bathrooms were updated. Cutlery and crockery needed to be washed again. 2) noisy!! - the neighbours were extremely noisy (for a weekday booking - sounded like they were partying every night) - unfortunately the unit right next to the main bedroom carried all the noise - and it went on well after 10pm. I needed to ask the host of the property for the complex’s quiet hour rules - and I was the one going to knock on the unit’s door to ask for music to be turned down and to be mindful of neighbours 3) run down - the complex pool is very run down and in need of a major overhaul. The roof collapsed and the furniture is breaking. My child cut her ankle on old plastic by the pool’s drains. We sadly only used the pool once for this. The parking is a nightmare the garage itself is also in need of maintenance. Overall the complex is old and definitely leaves one with a sense of let down for the price paid for the property.

Incredible location with a million dollar view from the verandah. Also very secure with parking, clean and comfy.

The view was magnificent. such a perfect spot. The convenience of shops, the beach and great restaurants being walking distance was perfect.
