The Hideaway-South Downs National Park

They were in the door as stated they would be. I read the reviews and they indicated it might be a little difficult to find the place, so I requested What3words and followed the App to find the house in front of the place. Stickler crossing smelter This made finding the place in the dark quite easy.

TV signal sometimes glitched but free WiFi signal always strong. Typical British weather, windy and a little wet but at least no heavy rain. Breakfast bar area but no dining table so could have done with some trays to put plates on, for TV dinners .

Very peaceful, comfortable and quiet. Perfect place to escape the rush and pressure of everyday life.

Nothing to dislike.

Surroundings at destination were beautiful however the extremely long drive was on a very uneven track and ramps were not clearly marked, which made them very difficult to see especially at night.

Bathroom needed a hand- held shower attachment and mould removed from tiles. No mirror in the bedroom, which when getting ready for a wedding was frustrating. More glasses needed in kitchen.

Loved the large space and vaulted ceiling. Extremely comfortable bed and nice linen and very well equipped kitchenette.

There was nothing to hang the large wet bath towels on in the bathroom and so we had to have them in the living area hanging over the balustrade to the the staircase, in order for them to dry. There was no mirror near an electric socket to be able to use hair appliances. Although there were 2 large ceiling fans which were helpful, they should not be described as conditioning.

Keys were in the door. Could’ve done with a proper stove but understand kitchen space was limited and a worktop one was provided in the cupboard. Was a great location and very oeaceful

Signposts to location could’ve been bigger we drove down wrong drive at the end of instructions as there wasn’t a signpost. There was masking tape over the bathroom threshold. It really should’ve been replaced they don’t cost much. We were a little bit cautious about opening the windows for fresh air as they was a wasp nest in the roof. So could’ve been really stuffy and unbearable in the height of heat.

Lovely room in stunning location with thoughtful touches - own farm honey, local walks, fluffy towels....

A what.three.words on directions Not a negative, but a heads up of no local shops so bring breakfast/milk... (we did but others might not think to...)

We wanted to step off the tread mill of life and relax, They said all you would hear was the birds singing, That is exactly what we got, Oliver the host welcomed us on arrival and said where he was if needed, It is called the Hideaway and it certainly was, Would we book again? Yes we would,
