"Great location and views in a very pretty fishing town."

7.0

Great location overlooking the harbour - and as others have said it’s very lovely to see the seals swimming outside the kitchen window. It’s spacious and has everything you need for a short stay. Eyemouth is a pretty fishing town and there are some good pubs and restaurants close by. It felt a bit like staying in someone’s house rather than a rental with lots of Knick knacks everywhere, I didn’t love it but I can see others may. Large comfy lounge, though as we were just passing through for one night we didn’t really use it.

The decor - a bit tired and dated. Towels could do with replacing. It was all perfectly clean and serviceable but at almost £300 a night I would like a non scratchy towel and not be asked to change my own bed. I’d expect that to be part of the cleaning charge. The second bedroom isn’t really suitable for adults - it has a trundle bed with metal frames at either end, so if you are tall there isn’t room to stretch out. I think this should be made clearer on the booking page.

The location was excellent for day trips driving in and about Scotland and England without having all the hustle and bustle near the big cities. For travel to major cities if you want to avoid driving there, Berwick-upon-Tweed train station is a 10-15 minute drive with inexpensive parking. The apartment was laid out well, with separate bathrooms and bedrooms available for guests. Numerous shops, restaurants, and a grocery store were within easy walking distance, as well as the local beach. In the afternoon, you might catch a seal swimming in the harbor, which was an additional perk of the location. Free parking was readily available nearby. If you're looking for an exceptional local breakfast experience, we can't recommend Wendy's Microcafe, just a short walk away, highly enough.

We didn't have an issue, but some guests may have trouble navigating the three flights of stairs, so using the handrails is important.

"Absolutely fantastic :-)"

10.0

Exceptional value for money - spacious upstairs/downstairs apartment - very comfortable living room and bedrooms, lovely bed in master room. Good sized toilets especially downstairs, ideal for bathing my 2.5 year old twins. Spacious kitchen with all everything you could need including a washing machine and drier - essential when you have young kids. The property was much bigger than I had expected - it was certainly ideal for anyone traveling with a young family. If you are coming with young kids I would recommend taking your baby gates with you for the stairs and moving all breakable vases and lights out the way of curious little hands lol Honestly a lovely place to stay with great views of the Harbour and all local amenities directly on your door step.

The parking out the front isn’t free it’s £4/day and results in your car being used as a dining table and toilet by the seagulls. In hindsight I would advise parking in the car park at the end of the street which I believe is free and not quite as directly in the seagulls aim. That’s not a complaint of the property or host just an act of seagulls/god

"We enjoyed exploring, sunsets and seaside ciders!"

10.0

The view, space, cozy vibe and location.

It got a little warm upstairs so a fan would be nice. Everything was exceptional otherwise!

"Quirky, characterful, well-equipped apartment in ideal location to explore Eyemouth and area"

Great location. Very well equipped. Large and spacious with loads of room. Quirky and full of character. Good views out over the harbour. Well placed for local attractions and restaurants/bars.

Single beds in second bedroom rather uncomfortable.

"Shocking, worst holiday experience ever."

1.0

The front door looked nice, that’s all we saw.

Mainly the fact that the key safe either didn’t work or the owners had given us the wrong code. Owners didn’t respond to phone calls or messages. Had to turn around and come home.
