Wayanad Biriyomz Residency, Kalpatta, Low Cost Rooms and Deluxe Apartment

I stayed here on 28th June and checked out on the 29th. The stay was truly comfortable and exceeded my expectations in many ways. The room was very spacious — in fact, it felt more like a suite! It had a separate hall area with a sofa set, tables, and chairs, and the bathroom was clean and well-maintained. A big highlight of our stay was the hospitality of the owner. Though the official check-in time was 12 PM, he generously allowed us to check in as early as 6 AM without any extra charges, which was a huge help as we arrived from an overnight bus. He even welcomed us personally and opened the gate early in the morning. Another thoughtful gesture was when, even after our checkout around 9:30 AM the next day, he let us use a spare room to freshen up in the evening before our return journey — at no extra cost. That level of service is rare and truly appreciated! The property itself is quite spacious and has a good number of floors and rooms, making it a great choice for families or groups visiting Wayanad. The only reason I’m giving 4.5 instead of a full 5 is that I did spot a few insects in the room — but considering it’s a nature-surrounded, forested area, it’s understandable and not a major issue.

- Location - Budget Stay - Food(Available on demand) - Ample place for parking - Large rooms - Humble host - Newly constructed property.

- Basic amenities were not provided. There were no toiletries, towel, door mat provided. - The place has the very basic things just to spend the night, i.e a bedroom, a washroom, few windows, a table and that's it. - However, when I asked for a dustbin, chair, towel, soap, drinking water, they did provide those in an hour. So it's not like those are not available but those can be availed only if you demand. - Even if the place is newly constructed, I found many flaws in the construction. There are gaps between the door panel and wall, hence privacy is questionable. Cracks in washroom tiles, washrooms tap and pipe joints are leaking. Windows do not have hook to keep their position locked while kept open, hence on every wind blow it will shut. Door lock is not quite functional; you would need to spend some time at door with the key to figure out the required rotation angle of the key to lock or unlock it.
