Casa al Ponte

It was just somewhere to sleep and shower.

Noisey waterfalls, uphill distance from the town, the smell of old people and dampness inside the property, the towels and bed linen. All old inside, electrics and no auto switch off kettle ! Back in time to 1960's

Camillo the host is wonderful. He met us after we got off the ferry and drove us to the house with our bags and picked us up when we were leaving. He was super flexible about when to pick us up. There's no view from the house, but there's a cute courtyard and a wonderful view of the lake as you walk down into town.

I think because of the position of the house near a river and all the rain when we were visiting it gets quite humid in the house and that attracts a lot of bugs. We found many spiders, scorpions, ants, centipedes etc all in the house which made for an interesting time.

The check in was very smooth. Camillo was waiting for us at the place, showed us where to park our card and explained everything in detail. The entire process didn't take more than 5 minutes. The highlights of the house are: _ Great and stable wifi (if you have to plan for your next trip, watch movies during winter or work from there as it was my case) _ Free parking slot in the public area. _ Easy access and quite area, although walking distance from Menaggio centre. _ Good heating and hot water system.

cosy little house perfect for a short (and long surely) stay. kitchen, fridge, washing machine etc the host was very available and super nice ! the garden is a nice plus for great breakfast in the bathing morning sun
