Amazing apartment and the hosts were incredible

Location excellent, on main shopping street and not far from sites and places to eat. The apartment was spotlessly clean and quiet. Hosts collected us from the station and dropped us back there!

Nothing. There are stairs to climb - no lift- so not great taking up luggage but it kept us fit!

Fiorella and her family are splendid hosts who care a lot about their guests (including a pick-up and drop-off from the central bus station). Welcome was with some water and a bottle of milk in the fridge. Communication is quick and in multiple languages. Minor problems could be sorted out very efficiently via messages or by help of a friend living close by. the apartment was very clean. It is spacious and has everything you need for a shorter stay (if you love cooking you should bring your own kitchen knives). For a longer stay, I'd prefer to have at least a washing mashine. There's a coffee maker with capsules and some packaged jam and bread/cookies for breakfast. Wifi works OK and the air condition works also properly. The rate is rather high (comparable to hotel rates/apartments in Paris, Rome, or big cities in the US) but the location is unbeatable and everything is within walking distance - you are right in the center of Ortigia (next to Diana's fountain), just steps away from great food in every direction (esp. Via Cavour in a parallel street), the market (5mins), the Cathedral (5mins) and some small city beaches and the marina (8-10mins). Absolutely recommend the stay. Still, despite the central location the flat is absolutely quietand you can sleep very well.

The terrace which is advertised in the ad is rather the rooftop above the apartment which was not very inviting, especially since some material for a renovation in an adjacent buildung was stored there and no chairs plants or a table were provided (3,5 floor - so the sun heats the apartment up pretty quickly - BUT there's AC to counter this effect). Thsi could be an amazing roof deck when properly furnished and populated with some greens and a sun shade. The many flights of steps weren't a problem. however, the staircase is like an atrium with a glass roof and this makes it very hot like in a greenhouse.

The location is ideal, right in the centre of Ortigia Island and right along Corso G. Matteotti. Yet completely quiet, unlike most places we've stayed in Italy.. Our hosts were hospitality personified, picking us up from the train station and offering insider tips for the area. And so cheerful! The two bedroom unit was spacious and completely equipped with all modern facilities (TV, dining utensils, stocked kitchen, a/c, strong wifi, coffee machine, kettle, fridge, oven etc), plus it was gorgeously laid out and decorated, with classic 12 foot ceilings, ceramic tile floors, chandeliers, and full height french doors and windows. There was even a tiny elevator for bringing our luggage up the four stories to our secure apartment. The beds were large and comfortable, and there was lots of room to unpack our suitcases.

That we couldn't stay longer.

Location was amazing, and the host was great and easy to reach via What's App. The apartment was huge, 2 full bedrooms with large kitchen. Very comfortable and clean!

Up 4 flights of stairs, but that is normal in Italy :)
