La Casa Sulla Darsena

La porta d’ingresso inusuale, è tipo la vetrina di un negozio, non isola la casa dai rumori della strada per cui a chi dorme nella camera posta sul soppalco su cui termina la porta, sembra di essere in mezzo alla strada.

Amplia, buena ubicación. La atención muy buena.

La presión del agua era deficiente.

We were met by Daniele, who was very friendly and easy going, he showed us around the entire apartment and provided us with all the information we would need for our stay. The apartment looks amazing and beautiful at first sight but when inspected closer and actually living in this space for a week you realise there could be alot more done to it to make it more homely and inviting, especially for the price paid.

Apartment was not clean, floors and rugs were really dirty to the point where we rolled up the rugs after we swept them and placed them on a chair for the entire time we were there so we did not have to walk on them. I swept and mopped the floors myself so we had clean floors, the floors are actually gorgeous and I would not cover them with rugs which are just trip hazards. I did not contact Daniele to complain about the dirtly floors as he had been in the apartment with us and obviously thought there were no issues. The rugs had not been vaccuumed for some time! As it is in an old building, which is beautiful I must add, the walls are the original stone and look gorgeous but, they are not sealed and as a result they are constantly crumbling, leaving a sand and rubble on the floor, you cannot walk around in bare feet. One night we were watching tv in the lounge area and we heard a loud crash sound, upon inspecting the apartment 2 large chunks or rock and alot of dust and sand had fallen off the walk in the dining area, the chuncks were slightly larger than a golf ball size! These were picke dup and thrown out and also floor was swept again. Also, due to the age of building and the unsealed, stone walls there is a wet/mouldy smell to the lower floor/lounge, dining, entry area of the apartment, if you are sensitive to smells, have allergies or suffer from athsma I would not recommend staying here. Lots of other small issues but they add up to a not so great stay eg: a hair dryer is provided in the main bathroom, and it does not work when plugged in to the power point at the sink in the bathroom, when taken in to the shower room and plugged in to the power point there the hair dryer works, problem is there is no mirror in this room. It's the small things and the finer details that make a stay wonderful and this apartment is missing these!

Excellent location on the waters edge. Close to shops, bars, restaurants and historical area, but very quiet. Accommodation very spacious, beautifully decorated, stunning property. Both bedrooms are spacious, with comfortable beds. If you are tall you will have to be on guard entering the bedrooms, due to low stone beams. Danielle the host was very attentive and gave good advice on restaurants etc. Nice welcome basket. We would definately stay here again.

One of the bedrooms is not very private due to drop down blinds in place of a wall on one side. You could hear the TV, chatter from downstairs very clearly in this room. This did not effect us as we were a couple. The kitchen is very small. Really only suitable for tea and coffee making, despite having a hob and small oven. There is no draining board or workspace. We ate out all the time so was of no concern to us.

Everything. Gorgeous spaces, beautiful decorations, generously supplied. Great beds and linens. Great location. The host was fantastic, responsive, helpful, and informative. Great location.

L’ampiezza, la possibilità di stare insieme ma anche di avere privacy e intimità. Il fresco: si stava meravigliosamente bene in pieno agosto 2023. I divani comodissimi, i cuscini perdetti e i materassi dei due letti matrimoniali. Là disponibilità del proprietario a risolvere qualsiasi difficoltà

Lo spazio esterno scarno e soffocante, mancanza di luce naturale

Un soggiorno migliore a "La casa sulla Darsena" non si poteva trascorrere: a partire dall'host, il simpaticissimo, gentile e affabile Daniele. Si è sempre mostrato molto attento alle nostre necessità, guida importante nelle scelte "turistiche", ma anche su dove deliziare il nostro palato. Poi la "La Casa" ...che bella: é un loft moderno ottimamente climatizzata ( in quei giorni le temperature superavano abbondantemente i 40° gradi) con le 2 camere da letto situati al piano superiore (un soppalcato che non disturba affatto, magari fastidioso per chi supera il metro e 80). La posizione della casa é proprio all'ingresso dell'isola di Ortigia, dove regna tranquillità e una bella vista sul porto. Ilmparcheggio quasi sempre disponibile gratuitamente nella zona antistante la struttura.

La struttura non è idonea per persone con gravi disabilità motorie e scomoda per persone abbastanza alte (che superano il metro e 80) per via del soffitto in una delle due camere da letto.

We loved everything about this apartment, if you’re looking for a place to stay, honestly look no further, just book this one! The apartment was actually better than we expected & even nicer than the photos portrayed.
