Chimborazo

1.- The view is amazing. From the rooftop you can see mountains and beautiful landscapes. 2.- The interior design is amazing, kind of magical. 3.- Well equipped facilities.

What a wonderful place! A spacious apartment, in a beautiful building with patio, nicely decorated with eye for detail, with a well equipped kitchen with fridge, a terrace (actually two) with views of the city and the volcanoes. Soft beds, a clean bathroom with hot water, all on a usually quiet street, close to the centre. Myriam is a great host, warm and helpful (German is spoken☺️). Loved it!

I was extremely pleased with my choice of lodging in Riobamba. Chimborazo hostal was well-located in the center, walking distance from all the sites in the historic center of Riobamba. The hostal is in the same building as a language school run by the owners, but the school was on holiday during my visit. They rent out only two rooms. One room has three beds. Mine was actually a little apartment composed of a small single bedroom, bathroom, a spacious kitchen, and use of a large room with a table, which had a good WiFi connection and enabled me to catch up on correspondence. The bed was the most comfortable I’ve had in Ecuador. The shower had nice hot water. The building was attractive and had plants everywhere. Spiral staircases lead up to the rooftop terrace, from where you have a good view of Chimborazo mountain with its snow-capped summit. The owner, Myriam, was extremely hospitable and when I fell down, she took care of my minor injuries. There is a laundry on the next block. Though no breakfast was included, it was still reasonably priced. I would enthusiastically recommend it to travelers and long-term visitors to the city.

No negative points, in my opinion.

A lovely place in Riobamba! I've extended my stay because I've enjoyed it. Myriam and Matthias are lovely and interesting people to talk to! The whole place gives you a sense of home and the terrace on the top is unmatched to have a coffee in the morning or relax during the day. Place was very clean and the room small but comfortable Everything is very close and there are facilites for cooking also available with everything you need. There are also infusions available for free. Definitely would return to meet Myriam and Matthias and have a good night sleep!

As mentioned above room was small , which for me was no problem at all, but if you would like a bigger space consider to go for a bigger room if there is Although there is a window in the room it doesn't communicate with outside so consider this as well when booking to go for a room with a window if that's what you would like.
