Long Thin Farm

Was such a treat to stay in such a beautiful, yet homely house, stocked with everything that we could possibly have needed. A beautiful location, surrounded by beautiful nature and right on the river for boating. We would love to stay again!

Location was wonderful. We loved the luxury of isolation and complete privacy, still close to town and beaches. The house was homey and conducive to building memories and spending quality time.

The winding dirt road to town takes a little longer than 12km suggests. The kids fell asleep everytime we drove somewhere 🤣

The only negative is that the fridge is too small.

Secluded cottage with lovely views over the river. Lots of birds & so peaceful. Cottage has all amenities & is well equipped.

We actually loved our stay at Long Thin Farm.

The farm is in the most beautiful valley and the cottage is super cozy. The fireplace was already going to heat up the cottage when we arrived! There is a picnic area down by the river and our dogs had the best time roaming around through the fynbos. We stayed in Milkwood cottage, which has a low wall all around and it was sufficient to keep the dogs in most of the time 😉. The walking trail behind the cottage has superb views. We absolutely loved our stay!

My only suggestion would be to supply guests with a recycling bin. We separated our recycling into a bag and just hoped that they would notice.

The view was gorgeous. The accommodation was comfortable and beautiful, very clean. Would definitely go again

We loved the proximity and access to the river and that it is located away from the chaos of the town.

The location is utterly magical and it is one of the few places on the river that you can go for a long walk on the property away from the river. The walk down to the river through the olive trees and daily swims just perfect and the cottage itself was simple, beautiful and comfortable with old established trees and views across to the river from the stoep. The people taking care of the property were kind and helpful. We had a lovely trip.
