Baardbos Private Game Reserve

Loved the setting and lovely area, vegetation, animals, game drives and the farm is situated conveniently betwern two towns and many attractions.

We absolutely loved our time here. The setting is spectacular, with animals feeding close to the chalet and stunning views all around. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and well equipped, making it easy to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Easy check-in and a peaceful, beautiful environment made this a perfect getaway.

Our only regret is that we only booked one night. We wish we had stayed longer to fully enjoy the wildlife, views and peaceful atmosphere.

Het was aangenaam vertoeven in baardbos game reserve. We waren er helemaal alleen. Het was er dus zeer stil. Je kunt er mooi gaan wandelen.

We hadden de grotere chalet geboekt, maar dit viel ons dan wel tegen omdat deze geen open terras heeft, de kleinere wel. Je kunt wel het raam openschuiven maar dit is toch niet hetzelfde. Het is natuurlijk onze fout, we hadden er niet opgelet, maar het zou toch iets duidelijker moeten vermeld staan.

We had to call for towels and insect repellent as flies were flying in the unit when we arrived. Bedding not ironed nicely. No cellular network or wifi.

It was quiet and in nature

The gravel road to get there is terrible, the rooms rather tiny and one only learns on arrival that you cannot drive around, unless by 4x4

It is a beautiful space and one can see the animals right from your door step.

It is mentioned that there is wifi, however on the road to the reserve is about 3km in you loose signal and one only gets signal when going to the reseves entertainment area and when getting there the signal is also touch and go. The road is also not tarred for about 6km right after you turn left.

The host was well organized with all the information given well in advance. It was so special with a little welcome treat for everyone even a lollipop for the girls on their foldable beds. It is gorgeous and well-kept. The seven chalets are situated near a lapa that features a pool and an entertainment area. The entertainment area is completely operational even when the power is out. The chalets are well equipped with everything you need. There was fresh milk, tea, coffee, even cookies, and a lot of extras.

The power was out for a day due to an issue with Eskom lines, but we had access to the lapa, which is fully operational even during power outages. The dirt road of about 6.2 km is a bit difficult to drive with a low-range car due to flooding.
