Antico Mercato Ortigia Apartment

Sensitively, but not overly restored apartment, perfectly located in one of the (18th Century?) houses, a few steps from the delights of the ancient market. High ceilings, spacious, good layout. Good locks both at street and apartment doors. Well equipped kitchen (though no dishwasher). Efficient aircon (three units - bedrooms and main room). Decent shower pressure, assisted by water pump. Helpful, responsive owner. Remote check-in available.

We liked everything and spent a very enjoyable week there.

A fab location and a beautiful, spacious, comfortable apartment.

Some of us thought the bed was too hard! It was on the second floor with no lift but that wasn’t a problem except when we arrived with our big bags. Unfortunately it is not advised to drink the water in Ortigia, which was also a bit of a pain.

Great location, close to parking, markets and a short walk to the centre. The apartment's very high ceilings, original tiled floors, lack of clutter and spaciousness were great. Kitchen well supplied.

You needed to be able to navigate two flights of stairs with luggage.

Ideally placed at the top end of ortiga, close to the market, many cafes, restaurants and the car park.. It was a 15 minutes walk to the Duomo. The appartment was on the second floor and was spacious and airy..

Single beds were very narrow

Everything was great-really lovely apartment with everything you need in an excellent location; most helpful host. we would certainly recommend!
